These sort of things are once in a lifetime things like going to a World Cup. Football has become truly global now. There are many things i dislike, such as ticket prices but i have done a lifetime with City and I am still hopelessly addicted to the club and try to see as many matches as possible home and away. it wouldn't bother me if the Community Shield was played abroad for example.

I take your point and I never miss a home match but away games, especially in Europe, are probably a thing of the past for me. When I did Istanbul Mrs H did Spain with her girlfriend's so a £1200 trip ended up at nearly £3k for the two of us. When I do Euro away games there's always a payback and with the Cost of Living rise it's become a bit more difficult financially.
