You can pay anywhere on card mate, but as I said for Istanbul, be mindful of fraud.

I always say cash is king abroad, especially in the smaller shops. I am taking plenty of Euros. Use bank cards such as Starling or Monzo for card transactions, as to avoid foreign transaction fees.

not really. You can use cards pretty much everywhere and plenty of ATMs if needed to withdraw. Keep some cash just for safety

No sounds like he has his ticket in the app with the seat/entrance details, but the barcode becomes active in the vicinity of the ground like the final in Istanbul.

Sounds like they've started sending the emails so keep an eye out the next 24 hours or so
