Still, if I remember correctly I think that Olympics transmission and Hitlers speech from it formed the basis for the plot in Carl Sagan's "Contact" novel and later, the film.

Indeed. And never has a film been made with such a good build-up and such a terrible pay-off as that one.

In all fairness, if you lived on a planet and was in full knowledge of another lifeform on a different planet, knowing that this known planet has these beings called Humans, and knew what these humans were doing...

I bet they look down on us and see how backwards we truly are, I mean Racism /Sexism/Homophobia and Extreme Religious beliefs... They know we are all fucking crackers and are just waiting for us to eventually evolve and come out of our caves
 
Any contact would be with aliens from another dimension, the maths would preclude being found by anyone existing in the same 4 dimensions that we do.
