UK far right trouble

I'm seriously considering deleting it myself, for the first time. I rarely post on there now, and am just getting fed so much toxic stuff on the "For you" tab. If it's not tedious culture war bollocks, then it's videos of people fighting/getting battered, girls advertising their OnlyFans, or ads for cheap shit goods from China. Musk really has destroyed the platform, which was probably his intention when he bought it.

I'm the same. I genuinely only use it for City news these days. Horrible, toxic platform.

I have been asking for twitter links to be fucked off from bluemoon for years :)

This is the result of people not having reasonable conversations, not the cause. If people could talk more rather than label people and push them into their own little echo chamber groups this wouldnt be happening.
People with genuine and reasonable concerns get immediately written off as racist or far right, they aren't listened to so it pushes them into the hands of people they think are listening, wankers like Farage and Tommy Robinson.

No I’m sorry, but that’s not true. These people out there aren’t interested in reasonable conversations. They’re not out there looking for an honest interlocutor, they are brainwashed goons burning things.

The problem is the exact opposite. We do way too much coddling and tolerating of people with supposedly “reasonable concerns” while they cry like fucking babies and complain about people having the temerity to point out their views are problematic and perhaps in some cases centred in racial prejudice. Once again, for those hard of hearing, freedom of speech is not the same as freedom from consequences for having shit opinions.

The answer to it is not yet more coddling of these people. “Oh there’s a good lad, you’re not far right, you’re just a concerned parent, you have valid concerns.”

No. Enough. Their concerns aren’t reasonable. They are not valid. They. Are. Wrong. Their opinions are often based on misinformation. They are often stupid concerns. Things like Shariah Law being made the law of the UK. This is stupidity. Let’s call it what it is for once. We embolden the stupid in this country instead of shaming them. We tolerate it and allow it to fester.

This “everybody is entitled to their opinion” bollocks is a breeding ground for idiots with idiot opinions. It’s how we’ve ended up with people thinking the Earth is flat. They’re burning down fucking libraries. We cannot as a society tolerate the fundamentally intolerant and the fundamentally stupid. These people are not operating in good faith - they are trapped by the likes of Farage and Robinson not because we shunned them from society, but because we haven’t sufficiently challenged these people at all. Society lets them fall down this rabbit hole through inertia because they are allowed to swallow whatever bullshit opinion they want without any kind of consequence.

I wish i could put my thoughts into words like that. Spot on, mate.
Has anyone seen Idiocracy? haha. It's meant to be the future, but it's a fairly accurate portrayal of TODAY.

Some are funny though...the ones of dumb rioters getting bricks in the balls. It's kind of paid for itself with these idiots incriminating themselves on camera!

I have, it’s turning into something of a documentary.

Somebody mentioned crocs earlier in this thread. Did you know everybody in that film wears crocs, and this was before they were on general release to the public. The reason is because the costume designer thought “Oh these stupid plastic shoes are perfect, nobody would ever actually want to wear these.”

One of the biggest problems currently is the algorithms used on the internet.
You watch videos or read about "influencers" and you will be directed to those with a similar mindset, leading to you believing that there is a large groundswell of support for your position, when in reality it could be a very small bunch of extreemists

Yep. Because I was watching a few of the live streams my feed on YouTube was starting to fill up with such stuff. (And other horrible things like Liverpool FC streams...)

Thankfully on YouTube you can delete your searches, click on the videos suggested and say you don't want to see this sort of thing. And that's got my feed back to normal again.

Think this thread needs a new title. Many of these people are simply protesting about the state of the country and are Not far Right. The title of this thread is simply feeding the media agenda.
Because there’s no better way of expressing concern about the state of the country than burning down and looting Shoezone in Hull…

Underrated film, I think. Reminds of MAGA supporters. Although, their president was fucking ace. Just a bit thicker than the usual..

Yep, in the last 10 years where we "can't talk about immigration," we've had Brexit, the rise of UKIP and Reform and their views regularly being put front and centre on the BBC, the most right wing rhetoric about immigrants from sitting politicians since Enoch Powell, a scheme to deport legal asylum seekers to Rwanda, several new right wing media sources, Twitter being turned into a haven of far right views, and the ability to say whatever you want, whenever you want on social media.
