UK far right trouble

Calm down.

The sentences given are politically led and disproportionate imo.

You won’t change my mind on that.

We live in an age and world where some right nasty shit is written online and we don’t go around locking the vast majority up for it.

Is there any in particular you think that about in terms of being disproportionate?

I haven’t seen any that don’t align with the sentencing guidelines, which have been around for a long while now. I haven’t been following each individual case though.

It’s worth saying those sentencing guidelines have always also included the sensitivity of the social climate as an aggravating factor.

If you incite hate and violence by 'freedom of speech' online you deserve what you get imo, i have zero sympathy for any of those cunts that posted on social media the nights of the riots, sitting there giving away locations of Mosques and Hotels and stoking the flames further endangering the lives of innocents and even the Police. fuck every single one of them and well done to Starmer for not fucking around and quickly stamping the far right riots out.

That just sounds like a justice system based purely on emotion rather than rules, and probably why Starmer's paying the price for it politically with his ratings.

The rule of law needs to be based on rules not vengeance or emotion, and needs to be applied equally across the board.

Starmer's "paying the price" because many people believe the "two tier" right wing conspiracy lie.
There are MANY "tiers" ...it all depends on each individual case. Right wing racist rioters will get what they deserve and, to keep you happy, so will the thugs that fought with the airport police when their time comes.

Slightly off topic but…

Do you think Huw Edwards deserved a tougher sentence? I’m sure you do, but this would form part of that emotion you don’t believe in.

Personally, I do, but his lenient sentence was based on the rules and the fact he had come forward himself, shown regret, got counselling, first time offender etc.

I don't know the facts of the Huw Edwards case to be honest but as a very strong rule, I would rather the prison spaces we have available be taken up by child abusers than people posting comments online, however nasty those comments may be.

Only 1 in 2 of those convicted of child abuse offences go to prison.

Second para is bang on and thankfully that is what we have.

Who do paedophiles associate with when they go to prison? Other paedophiles.

Do you really want to lock people like Huw Edwards up that are less likely to offend, and give them an opportunity to network with other paedophiles and increase the risk they reoffend?

Similar reason why people caught carrying knives don't automatically go to prison.

Starmer is a victim of the response by the police, CPS, and judiciary to the riots. They did far more to prove two-tier policing than anything any right-wing protester could ever say, and he's paying the price for it with his political capital.

I haven't mentioned anything about any airport incident but I'm assuming that's the one where the coppers were assaulted and no charges were brought? I wouldn't hold your breath for charges to be brought and regardless of that case, I think people have seen enough to make their mind up about whether the justice system treats everyone equally.

I'd much rather have them associate with other paedophiles than children.
