UK far right trouble

Winston Churchill: untried war criminal (Germany, millions of civilians killed and civilian women raped).

Margaret Thatcher: untried war criminal (Irish conflict, political prisoners, a lot of murders, guys tortured...).

Tony Blair: untried war criminal (Irak, millions of civilians murdered).

Probably along with Putin (untried war criminal, Ucraine) and within the last 80 years, these three people are the ones who have committed the most serious crimes worldwide without having been judged.

And you nevera say anything about those three people. You never fought for those three people to be imprisoned, or for them to be symbolically condemned today.

But nevertheless you became obsessed with four chavs who shouted twice in a manifestation.

It's clearly not the same thing, though, is it. As I've just explained very slowly and clearly. There's chanting and there's chanting racist slurs. If chanting by itself was an arrestable offence you'd have far more football fans in prison. If I was walking down the street chanting racist slurs I would probably expect a police officer to ask what the fuck I'm doing, just like how if I called you a **** on here I'd anticipate one of the moderators coming in to ban me. But then again, if I was the kind of person who'd walk down the street shouting racist things I'd probably be oblivious or nonchalant at the prospect of being arrested. But I can see from other conversations you're having in this thread that talking to you is like trying to argue with the wall, so.
We are on a bit of a slippery slope though - look at the whole 'tragedy chanting' thing and how that has been criminalised.

People have been charged and jailed for sending menacing messages via a public communication network.

Whether you agree or disagree with that is entirely up to the individual. If it’s inciting violence then I’ve no issue in jail time tbh but if it’s not and no matter how unpleasant it may be or how much you disagree, we have to be careful in just jailing people because of what they’ve said.

Why? If it is something that breaks the law on the street, in the workplace, in society, etc - why should it be ok on social media?

I agree but it feels as though we are now writing new law to cover speech on the internet.

Take this forum for instance, I’ve seen many posts that break the code of conduct on here, would you also advocate someone then being charged for a post and given a criminal record?

We just have to take a step back, take personal responsibility for what we write on social media and be sensible is all I am saying.

Not sure it does, more applying laws that already exist to social media. Which I have no issue with.

It all depends on your starting position imo. If it is that there is no conspiracy against the white brit, and that the government, the police and the legal system are not out to get the average punter and supress free speech, and systematically strip away cultural heritage, then you can presume (or read actual reports) that people arrested in this affair have likely done something more than just saying something stupid. Whatever their background. No different to how you would behave in real life, really. Or you can repeatedly on every single page make up wild and wrong claims that you can't in the slightest back, to promote a pretty clear pre-set agenda. And by that I don't mean you, obviously.

You need to change your medication.
