If you want to fly a little union jack in your adopted country to celebrate your Englishness/ Britishness then knock yourself out - I doubt any Australians will either notice or care, but if it makes you feel better, then go for it, but back here in Blighty I doubt your idea will be taken that seriously.
It does amuse me that some folk seem to get more patriotic exponentially the further they move from their homeland.
