UK State Pension

Appreciate there aren’t enough council houses, but I don’t agree with the likes of the richest buying many properties to rent them out when there is a national shortage
Why do you assume that only the rich buy properties ?

Someone has already posted that they have another property for their relatives.

I’m sure you know you can make up some of that 20 gap by paying in for the next 5 years, you need 35 years now for the full state pension but every year will increase your award.

I was self employed for the last 12 years of my working life and I think I was only paying £2.70 a week NI when I retired, was well worth it, my State Pension from April is worth 13,543 which is more than others of my generation.
I thought the maximum was £12548 from April, hence keeping it below the personal tax threshold.

Southern wankers buying property in the North just for profit as well will drive up house prices. See it regularly on Homes under the Hammer, houses in the North East targeted by London fuckers as they’re getting bigger returns and no doubt paying cash to a lot of tradesmen working for them.
We'll have to take a leaf out of the sons of Glyndwr book.

I have never expected to get the state pension and always thought it would be scrapped by the time i would be old enough. Add to that my itinerant lifestyle for 20 years and big gaps in NI payments.
Actually got a letter this week telling me i will be eligible for it in 5 years time..
You can go online and look up what your estimated pay out will be
