I've just been hit with this charge. Seems very unfair as the M25 junction was closed in both directions. So I followed the official sign posted division signs.

How the fuck can you be charged for following the correct division route ?

Bloody mayor of London must have made millions that weekend with people following the division signs

Its says division can be appeal, OK but how is this saving the plant ? They must have sent out millions of paper fines, I've 3 A4 pages plus the envelope ! They would have know the division route for that weekend.

You must have been driving a pretty old car to not be exempt from ULEZ rules.
I think diesel registered before 2015.
And petrol engined cars before 2006.
I know the last 3 cars I have owned since 2017 have all been ULEZ exempt.

My younger brother got fined driving to his son's house in Acton whilst driving his wife's car which was a 2015 Merc SLK diesel. So he stopped driving her car and started driving into London in his 2019 Range Rover Velar diesel.
It looks like you might have to get a newer car if you drive into London regularly.

i dont drive in london !! it was a diversion as the junction on the M25 was closed so i followed the official diversion and at no point was i inform that this route entered ULEZ :(

You’d think you’ll be able to appeal that if you had no choice due to a road closure. Good luck.

For clarity though low emissions zones aren’t about “saving the planet”. They’re about cutting pollution and improving air quality on a very local level.

Low emissions zones aren’t designed to tackle climate change. They’re designed to reduce pollution levels on a local level.

I agree they punish poorer people and the system doesn’t really work.

I drive a non-compliant old vehicle but thankfully don’t live in or travel to LEZ areas.

Fair enough. I would imagine that if you appeal against the fine it would be overturned as you have not intentionally driven into the ULEZ zone. Good luck with your case against them.

It happens when they don’t get enough notification to switch the cameras off.

They’ll cancel the pcn if you appeal.
