Somehow the voice doesn`t fit my image of him.First time I`ve ever seen a photo of him.

IIRC he put on a lot of weight since this picture.

I always imagined him as a very rotund (for want of a better word) jovial person,with a balding head,munching all sorts of butties,chocolate and crisps during a show.Perhaps he did and thats why he`s now a fat fucker !! ;)

Never dreamed he had a moustache! Imagined he looked like a big camp version of Al from Happy Days.

That first one reminds me of getting loads of them at a City Junior Blues open day at (I think) Platt Lane. There was a 'whose helium balloon can get the furthest' contest plus a 5-a-side tournament. Think Dave Ewing's side won and he was in net!

There's a good discussion group on Facebook called "Piccadilly Radio-Pride of the North" with uploads of the DJ photos etc.

Umberto is a member of it but just lurks I think.

Wow, I'd forgotten about Umberto doing the show before Stannage. That was just before the Guinness fridge was plugged in under Stannage's desk and it all went completely tits up with the Salford/Ken Bigley on-air shit. Had a pint with James earlier in the week - he's in good form still.

Does anyone remember Dennis and Mosche, the alternative therapists? And Stella the medium?

Same as, I remember doing some kind of It's a Knockout type thing at Alty FC 20 years ago and he was the compere, lovely, fat dark haired bearded queen, nice fella!
