Underated City Players

I'd second Asa hartford, Peter Barnes and Gary Owen - the mid 70s team that came close to winning the league didn't have any major stars of international repute but it also didn't have any weak links and these three in particular were wonderful to watch - Owen and Hartford bossed the midfield while Barnes terrorised opposing defences

I don't know about under-rated. I think they were possibly over-rated. Barnes was at least rated to the degree to have commercialised it with his ball-on-a-string and Asa was high profile and Garry also. I think big Mal under-rated them but I think it was partly a winger-less system that got rid of Barnesy and the others fell into the "not-doing-what-Mal-says-so-have-to-go-group".

Might sound a weird one but Rolando Bianchi. I thought he was a good player who just needed a few starts but he didn't settle.
