Undesirable Slang/Accents

I live in Leigh (but moved here), and some people here have a horrific accent.

It's more of a drone than an accent, in stead of saying "come over here" they actually say:

"cum urvvveeeerrr earrrrrr"

My girlfriend is from born and bred here, and speaks like this. Sometimes I want to punch her in her face when she speaks. Her accent is annoying too.

I was there in 94 and Chris(shithouse) and miriam had it, i dont recall Fred and Anne having it though but i know(i think) that one of their sons died in boot, only young as well,i'm sure it was their son. I remember Doggie Ross wasx building something in Seascale when i was up there but i'm not sure if it was The Cumberlan though. I remember one or two from seascale and they were fit birds and all.

Btw, did Greengarth have their annual Jolly up in the Horse? im sure they used to all go when it was the Annual Steak and barbecue party.
think so, they were very pally with stefan, steve edgar was the main man then.....no freds lads mike and mark are all still well, the lad who died went by the name of Jackson i think, i went to school with him..... people couldnt work out whether it was suiside or just a pisssed up fall off the bridge near the george the fourth pub as i recall..

Quite a nice part of the world Gosforth and Seascale, but if your up in the lakes go visit the likes of Ambleside,Windermere and Grasmere.I love those places, great for walking,a few pints, decent restaurants and some amazing scenery.

never got into that side of the lakes really, had enough on my doorstep, with scafell, wastwater, eskdale, ennerdale etc etc... we spent our child hood in blengdale forest, making bivys and camping out for days on end, we would walk up sty head pass and camp alongside the tarn and make brews for the fell walkers, in the summers we would earn a few quid hay bailing for the farmers, idyllic childhood, would ALL be banned by health and safety now I'm sure!!!! Its no surprise to me kids turn out so badly now, when you compare the upbringing i had (with pisss all money I have to say) to what they have now, all fur coat and no knickers kids upbringing now, they get all the top gear and games etc but don't have the chance to exercise, team build, get imagination, get fresh air and be brought up by the community like i did. I feel very sorry for the youth of today, many of them don't stand a chance...soz bit of a tangent there!!!!!

I agree totally. But back to Ambleside.Perfect little place for quiet night out,got a good crowd of locals and foreign backpackers in the summer, everyone sitting drinking outside the ale houses. Some great restaurants. The Thai one there is lovely. In the morning you got some great walks nearby to shake of the hangover.

FFS how the mind forgets eh? apologies mate your right, it was Young jackson and my money is on Accidental death. Did you sup in the Burnmoor Inn with Tony And Heidi as hosts? On my day off i used to walk upto the Burnmoor Tarn with my ghetto Blaster, Newky Brown and me fishing gear, stubmle back down and hit the Burnmoor Inn before Staggering back to the Woolie. Memorable days but Chris Morrison was a grade A- TIT, last i heard was that Miriam was being nailed off the Chef and Morrison was on a park bench or something, couldnt happen to a nicer bloke.:)
A farmer called Martin used to supp in the George and we used to fish on his private trout lake, i think he was from Santon Bridge.

Thats the chap, nice dude btw. Peter Clarke? when i was there in 94 Heidi was indeed going out with a Peter and he played Rugby, he worked behind the bar in the Burnmoor, quite an athletic looking guy with rugged features and i had a few good piissups with that lot, infact he borrowed my Video of when Saints battered Bradford, still not got it back btw. Small world eh BN. I think Tony Foster died sometime ago, he used to be really protective of the big open fire in the pub, crag rats used to come of the fells freezing cold and piss wet thru and the first thing that they headed for was the fire and to start stoking it, only to feel the wrath of Tony, pmsl.

not sure hwere she's from, but some girl at my work seems to finish every sentance with ... ''tarrrrrrrdaaaaaaarrrrrr'' then pulls the below pose ... mad

On occasion it is more comical than annoying but for the most part I find it annoying because of the slang used with it lol. As for using "gotten" I can be umm guilty of using it on occasion but very rarely.
