I was once banned for being Rupert from Dagenham and calling fergie a senile old motorway shitting piss pot. Seemed very harsh.

The funny thing was, when I went to the 'New members introduce yourself' thread to - well, introduce myself, the guy who joined before me was in Singapore, I think and the one after was from Vietnam, but currently he lives in Japan and "it is his life-long dream to go visit Old-Trafford." I wanted to reply that I used to live and work right by the place and it's a shit-hole, "so don't bother". But I didn't. I wish I had now!

Are there any Utd. fans who post in here, who are also active on Red Cafe? If so, can you tell me what the heck that site is site playing at??? I have been banned, yet again and I didn't do anything wrong?

I joined yesterday and made a harmless comment on a thread about Wayne Rooney. Today I started a thread about Fellaini possibly going to Sunderland and that initiated a decent and funny debate. I acknowledged I was a City suppoerter, I filled in a thing on the new posters thread saying I was born in Manchester and will always be a City fan but I expect this season to be amazing and wanted to discuss it with them, etc. etc. They claim to welcome City fans so I don't think that was the issue.

Tonight, I had spent about 30 mins on a detailed post - again about Wayne Rooney and how I think he would be best off going to Everton - probably at the end of this year. But when I tried to submit it, I got this message - "Error, you have been banned".

I'm really annoyed because on that site, once you are banned, you cannot get onto a whole section of the forums, the 'Newbie section', so now I can't even see how the discussion on my Fellaini thread pans out.

Is this not a breach of my human rights!

I thought this country was one where free-speech prevailed?

If there are any techies out there, I'd also appreciate your input on how this happened. I did, thinking back, sign up last night whilst having a beer in my local. My tablet was on the Pub's wi-fi so, I assume it was a new IP address, not known to Red Cafe. The e-mail I used was also 'new'.

However, today, I created the Fellaini thread on my home PC - did that cross-reference my IP address to one on a database of banned ones, or what? I just think people should be given chances. Did they send me a message saying that I must be careful and post respectfully (which I intended to do)? No just a straight ban. Grrr its really annoyed me.

P.S. Just to add, the last time I was banned, I think it was because I dared to suggest that Marcus Rojo was a bad purchase, because a) they had to pay Nani's wages for a year to get him, b) because he had legal problems back in South America, meaning he was late joining Utd. and finally c) because he isn't very good. Ironically, according to the papers today, Utd. are probably going to sell Rojo, because..... he isn't very good!

I think my ban before that - and I can understand this one, was because I dared to criticise the holy of holys: SAF. I wrote a post saying that although he built up an empire, his actions, particularly over a race horse (Rock of Gibralta) ultimately led to the Glazer takeover & Utd's decline.... I can see why that annoyed them! But I think people should be given chances and the people running Red Cafe seem just too harsh.

I never understand fans signing up to a rival clubs forum, as so eloquently put earlier 'Fuck em'.

When you've been banned once that's it I think. People try to return with new accounts but if found out are instantly banned no matter what.

But how do they know? Is it all done robotically - or do actual human beings look at your posts and make a decision....?

You spent 30 mins composing a post on the redshite forum ? ffs.

Yes, I saved it on a word document, so here it is!:

Right, this is what I think could happen/should happen, if and it is a big if, Mr and Mrs Rooney put their heads together and think things through.

First of all, let me say this - Wayne is 'only' 30 years old chronologically, but because he got to the top so young (16) he is more like 34/35 in 'footballing' years.

Option a) He moves to China on a mega-deal.... most unlikely to happen because he has a young family and would really struggle with the cultural change involved. He could go to America, that would be more doable, but I don't think the US clubs are spending like the Chinese are.

Option b) Continue at MUFC on his lucrative contract, whilst frustrating fans because he is past his best. Ultimately, in two or three years he finally moves to Everton, with the Utd scoring record on his CV, but a tarnished reputation. A sort of football player version of Arsene Wenger. Until Jose came along, I would have said this is most likely, but now I'm not so sure.

Option c) Jose Mourinho gives him a chance at the start of this coming season, but soon finds the truth of where he is at, physically and by Xmas he is a regular on the subs bench. Wayne decides to finish his career at his starting club (and the team he supports) and asks to be allowed to go back to Everton. As a result, he enjoys his football once more (in their midfield) and most importantly, in a few years he can return to MUFC as a coach or an 'ambassador' - and is welcomed back with open arms.

This final option, would be for the best and having earned big money, over a long period & not just in wages - his face is on the front of one of my football games that I have on Playstation 2! he and his wife* should really consider it.

Man Utd. should not make it impossible for Everton to do this, so should set a nominal transfer fee. To get the £300k per week wage off the books would be a good thing.

Finally, I hope that Sam Alladyce is similarly strong enough to realise that Rooney has had his time with England. Did Alan Shearer not retire from the international football at 31? it would be no shame for Wayne to do the same and without those extra games and the committment it involves, it could enable him to play on until he is 33/34 real years - 37/38 football years!

*I mention Colleen in this, because I don't think Wayne is super-intelligent, although he has done well to get some media training during his career. However, his wife is a successful business woman and he might listen to her.

I never understand fans signing up to a rival clubs forum, as so eloquently put earlier 'Fuck em'.

I understand your point of view, but it can be fun to read their delusions and when Moyes was in charge, it was great - especially just after he started & he said he wanted them to be more like City!!! I thought Red Cafe was going to break the internet, following that!

The idea of Pogba being their Steve Daley has a lot going for it.
If you'd said to an observer at the time, when Steve Daley was signed in 1979, that 37 years later, with inflation in the wider economy at pretty low levels in the intervening period, that a former united reserve player would be bought back by them four years after he left the club, for over £100 million, they'd have thought you stark, staring mad.

In fairness, he's a tad better than Daley, about whom I sometimes wonder whether the transfer fee crippled him psychologically. He was a decent, if somewhat limited player at Wolves, with a good engine. Astonishing to think Wolves used the money to buy Andy Gray from Villa. We should have missed out the middle man and signed Gray ourselves!

I was at Steve Daley's debut - he didn't have a great game! Was it £1.75 mill or £1.25 mill. I know it was mega at the time, I think it got to him.
£1.45m IIRC, didn't Allison tell Swales he was worth about £700k and Swales ended up paying twice that?

On topic, Pogba is a good signing who will improve their squad but as he's shown a tendency to go missing in big games I don't see him being the difference between them winning a title or not.
