I just can't see a good end to this Rooney situation.

He surely can't suddenly turn around this 2 year decline in form. If Jose continues to pick him, the crowd will get restless, and the boo boys will surface.

If he drops him, Rooney will sulk and start mouthing off to anyone who will listen, stirring up trouble behind the scenes.

Interesting article by Sky saying Jose has turned things around at United compared to Van Gaal. Yes they are creating more shots on goal but the big stat for me is they are covering less ground in a game and are 20th in the running stats. Shows that having taller less mobile players means they can be cut open by legs in midfield. Let's hope Jose doesn't realise this any time soon and it should make some cracking viewing till May.

I think the most interesting stat is that they have less points at this stage of the season than under LVG, if that is what constitutes a turnaround then i hope it continues.

If they don't much Liverpool for running the game could get really ugly for United. If you don't match your opposition for work rate the amount of skill and talent in your team won't see you through. We found that out the hard way last year.

Very early days yet but at the moment US, red dippers, spuds and Arsenal all look far better teams than the rags, top 4 is going to be difficult for them this year.
