Who is BUYING success now?

I think you lot will be fine if you just go about addressing your gaps, and with the holistic approach from your owners. Speaking of which, when people talk about "the Arabs" or "oil money" they never acknowledge that your owners are hands-off, defer to football people, are investing in places outside of the XI and stay out of the newspapers. It's actually a model way to run a club, sneering from rival fans aside.

It's just the academy kids that are not yet there, but that was always going to take time and anyway other than Sporting Lisbon, Barcelona or Bayern, who is manufacturing internationals from their local setup?

Brilliantly put.

Nigel De Jong coy on United interest
Dutch midfielder Nigel De Jong has regularly been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and it seems as though the rumours have returned again this summer.

However, the LA Galaxy midfielder was quick to quash any rumours this morning.

He said: “Rumours are rumours for a reason. If there was any interest, then it’s something that my agent had to deal with, not me personally, so I never heard anything about it. Of course Manchester is my second home for me. City will always have a place in my heart.”

Oh when De Jong ....

I expect the same as what LVG doled out with a bit more quality in the final third. As boring to watch as Mourinho's style is it does win him silverware. The main interest for me is... has the prem fully sussed him now as his second stint at Chelsea never saw them half as solid and around 2004-5ish. If they have and other teams pull their act together (Arsenal, us, Chelsea) and do not seem crippled with apathy again will he crack if he has to watch out who is in 5th/6th as much as looking to move up the table?

I think it is a fair question as when Chelsea slipped a bit they went down like nothing i have seen before, just players downing tools?, nah can't just be that and if it was it still points to Mourinho's attitude when the going gets tough. He did ok at Real but had the comfy and acceptable excuse that he was always up against Barca who over the last 7-8 years have been the best team in the world. It did also not go smooth for him there either, i remember a lot of news about unrest in the team when he managed them adding weight to the idea he sinks fast if his head dips under just once or twice. In short it seems unless they are on the crest all the time his teams pretty quickly start to lose cohesion.

Personally i doubt anything like that will happen this season but am confident we will be better than them over the course of said season. If they finished 5th again then it would be really interesting, i say interesting but what i mean is 'just damned funny'.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes.

Mourinho says this is his dream job, and he has some fucking good players there. He'll win silverware as that's what he does. I don't think Ibrahimovic will be the disaster some in here think he will be, and it appears the Pogba deal is done, and regardless of the fee it is a fucking cracking signing. God knows where he'll play Rooney? Ibrahimovic certainly won't be one to defer to the granny shagger on our off the pitch, and neither will Pogba, so there will definitely be a falling out there. If they're winning games it'll all be fine, but if they hit a dodgy patch then it'll be fun to see the papers as the Yoonited old boys will start their back room briefings like they done last season.

I can see Mourinho parking the bus against the bigger teams, but I can also see him opening up against the shite and mid table. The problem will be if the smaller teams go back to fearing them, as in recent seasons they've given the Rags a game.

They'll all be crowing in work again today.......

I'm afraid that I see them as being very strong this season, they've improved significantly in every department.

Mourinho will improve them, there's no doubt about that. Big name signings like Pogba and Ibrahimovic allied to players like Martial and they have the best keeper in the league. Anyone who doesn't think they will be serious contenders is a bit deluded to be honest.

There are plenty of chinks in the armour though! Who knows how Mourinho will react to the internal politics at that shit hole.

Bobby Charlton never wanted him and he has the unenviable task of having to shift the 300k scouser out of the club who will cause trouble with the press leaks to favoured journalists.

The other main issue with them is playing Thursday & Sunday's every week, always playing catch up and no doubt they'll pick up injuries with all the Europa games and have a fatigue as a major issue later in the season.

I fucking hate them.

See the media are reporting Pogba wages as 220,000 a week After tax. With us no doubt they would show the true wages inc tax

They should be considered real challengers after what they have spent in the last few years alone and before the PEG and other signings this summer.
