Enjoyed their celebrations at the final whistle. Made me laugh and laugh quite loudly. While I'm always disappointed with a derby defeat, this one didn't feel as bad. You could argue that 2 of the first 11 would be starters in a stronger team last night, Ota and Nolito, Kompany coming back from injury wouldn't have got ahead of Stones. So we had 9 squad players on the pitch, 2 of which are from the youth team and handled themselves very well, especially Maffeo, who I thought was different class, with Garcia looking neat and tidy.
Take United, set up with the best team available to them, probably played a little better but still not great, questions can be asked about Herrera's challenge for the goal but they celebrated like they won the league.

The gap is widening and that result last night has just blinded them some more. It's great! Never been so positive after a derby loss

Brisbane you say? As in Australia? If so it explains this nonsense, being stood upside down all the time must cause all the blood to rush to your head.....we lost, they won, hardly evidence of a ever increasing yawning chasm is it...nor frankly is the handful of points that seperate us, which could well become a smaller gap this weekend given the fixtures.

PEG and the rags must have taken a great deal of satisfaction from beating a bunch of reserves and kids

As you said, despite the scumbags having a near full-strength side out, the difference between the two sides was minimal.

Isn't it great?

what part of full strength Vs 9 changes don't you understand ?? its quite simple really...

Ditto mate, cant believe that so many are having a hissy fit about losing to united with our second team out to preserve our best 11 for the important part of the season ahead.

Still a lot of our fans who see beating United as the be all and end all of our season, we have bigger fish to fry in the next 2-3 weeks, get a grip for fucks sake.

This.

It's no longer our cup final but it is definitely theirs.

on a positive note, that's 3 less mid week fixtures and a re-arranged premier league game if we're to have made it to the final. As Pep said, EFL Cup is least of our priorities.

No point in sugar coating it, we had the chance to twist the knife but played a weakened team.

It doesn't matter if it was a hollow victory, alot of football is confidence driven. We've just given them a shedload.

Why has it given them confidence? It certainly didn't give them any beating the champions Leicester 4-1

I picked up one thing about them last night, and because I generally refuse to watch them I had no idea. Luke Shaw has got tits.
His physique and athleticism for a footballer is like Stuart Barnes's was for rugby

Not to mention that arse. He's like a horse dragging a stagecoach.

Do we actually want the toxic one to be sacked? I don't, he's doing just as good a job as Moyseyeyey and Van Haaaal - i'll be delighted if they get to the final of the carling cup and finish 5th again and have to repeat the ignominy of the europa cup

Well said. 10 years ago we would have played our full strength team against the Rags and they would have played a mixture of squad players and Academy. Oh how it has turned full circle. Make no mistake this was their cup final they HAD to win. Mancini said that we had to stop focusing on the need to beat them, yes it is nice but it is the bigger picture you have to look at. If we lost to them twice in the league but still won it I would be dancing a bigger jig than the desperation they showed last night. What is it we sing 'youv'e had you day out now fuck of home'.
