Someone posted earlier that it's to avoid a clash with Lyon's game.

However, Lyon and St Étienne are 40 miles apart!

Make of that what you will.

Thanks I had a quick scan and could not see anything and I could not deal with reading pages about them

There is a rule:
"If more than one club from the same city, or within a radius of 50km (31 miles) of each other, is taking part in the competition and/or plays in the same stadium, and if the association and the clubs concerned explicitly declare when entering the clubs that their matches cannot be played on the same day, the UEFA administration may alter or confirm dates and kick-off times according to the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee."

I understood the distance to be just under 40 miles, but as the crow flies it may be shorter. This site says it's 45 km:

Either way, it would have been given to UEFA pre-tournament and not in the last month (as far as I can tell).

Weren't the dippers forces to play another day because the scum were at home a couple of seasons ago using the same rule?

Ian Darke is a fucking Rag sycophant!
Never have I heard a commentator lick United arse for a full 90+ minutes.
He should be ashamed of that imitation of unbiased broadcasting!
If St Etienne had anyone who could finish they'd have been up shit creek as well until they brought the cheating diving bastard on.

Calm down you'll need some of my blood pressure tablets :-)

Calm is my middle name.
Until the whistle goes tonight at which point the blue mist descends and my Jekyll like other half emerges for an hour and a half of profanity, abuse, loud mouthed soup insults and the like. Apologies to all in 119!

Don't know about that but we played Porto in an early kick off on the Wednesday in the Europa League in 2012 to avoid a clash with the rags game - the 4-0 win when Sergio scored after about 30 seconds.

Since 2005 they have been live on tv in the fa cup 57 times.
The reply against Huddersfield will be 15 for lickle old city.
Ffp my arse
