That Herrera red card is going to hinder their efforts to qualify for European football next season; it'll be hard for them to top that UEFA fair play thingummyjig now.

See it doesn't happen suddenly. The first 7th place is a shock, and then you start missing out on top 4 then all of a sudden you're taking moral victory in shots on goal and shots on target. If you go on the cafe now they're talking about shots on target as some sort of victory. Woodwork, Burnley GK saves, they "really" won it, pointing at Burnley's minimal possession. I get that it's frustrating when you can't break down an inferior team, it's sort of like how we felt when we dropped points against the rags at Anfield the other day to be honest.

Them being 8th starts to look normal for other teams, and they are no longer beaten before the game. Swansea away next, I can see them dropping points there too.

You're correct - a mate of mine text me at half-time saying that it was a 'decent game'. Their definition of 'decent' has clearly changed over the last few years

The clues were there under Moyes when they started talking about how many crosses they managed to put in and how many times they got to the bye-line
 
the p.r. department will be on overtime this evening,

No way, Koeman isn't daft enough to get rid of their top striker for a washed up has been. The whole world can see Rooney is finished as a top player at this level, and there is no chance he's going to walk away from a 300K a week contract, Everton will pay him no where near that much either.
