United (A) - League Cup SF Post-Match Thread

true

but maybe before pep we looked at replacing yaya with somebody like pogba, maybe he did fit the bill for that power midfield player that the english game needed at the time, but the game has moved on so fast since yaya and that type of player is now long gone and teams play around players like pogba, so today the truth with pogba does not want to learn another role and is lazy
Could be scurrilous gossip but I remember reading Buffon and Chiellini at Juventus had to give him a few slaps to bring him into line.

Yes I am. Pogba is a seriously good player, as his performances for France, Juve and the rags against us testify. Why he has been performing like dogshit is obviously down to a lot of things to do with him as an individual, his manager, what he is asked to do for the team and his agent but it is not down to a lack of talent.

I doubt in reality we will ever take one of theirs directly as we did with Tevez for all sorts of reasons but in terms of pure ability he has the skill to be in our squad.
Agreed. He’s like Sane. Outrageously talented and yet lacks the focus and hard work other less talented footballers possess.

He didn't book the one where he nearly snapped dinho and one other bad one,it's a much as what they don't do as it is what they do do
Second half was a sop to United by the referee: Williams in particular was aloud to get away with some thuggery typical of MUFC players when they’re found wanting.

It was probably quite surprising that we could have scored 5 goals without having a proper striker for most of the game. Pep's understanding of the game is special.
If you ever get the chance please read Pep’s autobiography of his time at Barcelona and Bayern. I think you’ll find it quite entertaining as well as enlightening.

pogba make's mario look normal (why always me) pogba t-shirt would be (its my way or the highway)

First half at home in the 2 - 3 of the centurions season was an absolute beatdown, with a somewhat watered down first 11 (did we have Monaco in CL next game?). That's the only other time i can remember us beating the shit out of them so much that i felt a teeeeeeny weeeeeny bit sorry for them, learnt from my fucking mistake that time though!
Xmas at Old Trafford in Pep’s second season, I think. Astonishment and then mirth at how abysmal they were. Cherry on the cake was de Bruyne, Sterling and another wasting time at the end kicking the ball at Ashley Young for one corner after another. Gives me the giggles still to this day.
