United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

As I’ve posted on here before, me and one of my red loving mates have City/United bets every year.

For the Derby he said 20 quid and he gets the drawS as well. Told him to f’off he can pick one draw, so he went for 2-2. When I saw Evans/Maguire starting at CB, I offered him to double his bet and he could have all draws …. he accepted

No, I understand that it's a mitigating factor, but the prevailing narrative is "why doesn't VAR get involved all the time" and the reason why it doesn't or didn't get involved elsewhere - ie with Maguire on Haaland - is because the referee "saw" it and didn't give it in real time. VAR only intervenes if the ref has missed something.
Isn't VAR supposed to intervene if it's a clear & obvious error in the box, whether the ref's seen it or not?

"I didn't see it" is a clear and obvious error.

"I saw it wrong" is also a clear and obvious error.

I guess we don't know which one was playing out here, but I suspect it's the first one rather than the latter as if he'd said "yeah, I saw them pulling at each other and didn't think there was enough in it" then he wouldn't have been sent to the screen (imo).
