United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Lambs to the slaughter and it’s been like that for alot of games.

Injuries over two seasons now and an influx of players.

Pragmatic approach until this period settles.

Feels like we are making it far harder than it should be.

Like for like and keep the same system only excels with very good players both in attitude and ability. I don’t see it.

Wide open all season-No Rodri.
Wide Open all seaon - no Nico.
Wide open all season - no lb
Wide open all swason - no CBs.

Add in the over reliance on Haaland’s goal and Foden being superb then crap.

Donna and erling is why we are in the latter stages.

Anyway, couple of good games and it will look rosy again. Merely pointing out the issues prior. It’s no wonder we are were we are.

Var cheats also plays a role.

I’m still unsure why everyone emptied out after the disallowed 3rd goal.
United won’t play as good as that again this season. Will City play as bad? I honestly don’t know anymore.
Because it came on 90 minutes and we'd hardly created a decent chance up to that point.
FFS it could have been four or five nil and that's without the VAR offsides. We were generally bloody awful apart from Donnarumma.
That was my reason; I can't speak for the other 3,000.

He had a very bad day at the office today, I accept that

However, he’s managed to get this squad to 2nd in the league, the final of the Caraboe, almost knock out stages of the Champs League and we’ll see about the FA Cup

That isn’t easy with Nunes at right back, no goal scoring wingers and a midfielder at left back

I think he’s done a good job this season

Nunes and O'Reilly have been two of our best players this season, and our wingers are too busy playing to Pep's instructions. Pep keeps picking Foden and Haaland regardless of poor performances.

It's all on Pep.

FACT 1. Raheem Sterling wasn't signed by Pep.

FACT 2. Raheem's performances went into decline under Pep.
Sterling played his absolute best football for us under Pep. His first season under Pelligrini he struggled, first season under Pep he started to progress and then his third season with us was literally the centurions where he was part of the best team the league has ever seen. So to suggest Pep wasn't instrumental in Sterling's best City form is disingenuous

They have been our best players, because Pep and the team have coached them. It’s not an accident

No other manager in the league could get Nunes anywhere near being a serviceable right back. Certainly not Maresca or any of these mid managers that have been linked

Hyperbole? Did you not watch that shite performance that Pep orchestrated?

It's happening too often, and people are still naking excuses. The rags are a dreadful side, and today we were even worse. If you're OK with that, I can only assume that you're a total sycophant, or wrong in the head.
Missing Nunes Dias Gvardiol Nico G killed us today in all honesty..
Pep fucked up by playing Lewis and Ake as full backs..neither have any pace in the position you need it most when you play the rags.
Definitely need to give Erling a rest as he's either carrying an injury or he's fucking shattered.
Might be worth playing Sem upfront in his place for the Bodo game.
The lack of fight was what pissed me off most though..
A fucking Derby and we looked half hearted..

Ake we all know legs have gone. Been a great signing but there comes a time. Rico I hate to say isn't good enough, Rico was in due to injury but can't understand why he didn't start nico instead of ake.

Not disagreeing with you but I think Pep hinted a week or two ago that Ake was carrying a bit of an injury. Last season too I believe he had to play a lot of games while not fully fit. So yes, he’s not firing on all cylinders but at least he has bottle and commitment to the cause.

Rico’s also got a good attitude but he’s just nowhere near the expected standard full stop.

I must have missed us qualifying for the final of the Caribao

Thankfully the guy next to me left early.
He talked all the bloody time and came out with lots of nonsense.
One quote is that it was his 97th derby and he’s hoping to get to 100.
Had any one got any facts for this ?
I’ve been to lots ( yet nether counted) cos I’ve got a life outside of city .
I’ve been season ticket for 52 years, I would say he was in his early 60’s, was he just talking crap ?
I think today was my 99th or 100th derby and I'm 68. The only reason I know is that I was counting them so I could tell rags that I'd seen the team they claim to support far more often than they have.
Two a season for 50 odd years, knock off the years when we (or they 74-75) were elsewhere, add in cup ties and 100 derbies is certainly possible, and even more if you include testimonials.

Obviously he was, but on the same basis, he was also instrumental in Sterling's decline.

That was a hard watch. I said in the pre match about pace but even after I saw the team I still wasn't expecting a performance like that.
I was so looking forward to that front line as well but the football we played was turgid.
It's about time we started leaving one of our forwards on the halfway line for opposition corners as well!
