This is more stable as a setup based on control, experience, balance, form and the ability to create chances. Your original setup has too many out of form and not enough balance of attack on the wing, in my opinion.

You gotta give me some credit buddy. I was in Pep’s mind when he was making his selection because I got it 100%.

Personally I feel your call for Laporte has merits but a Gundo-KDB midfield will be outrun and a Bernardo-Gundo midfield whilst pushing KDB out wide can be very chaotic except you want to leave out KDB all together which is a risk too big to take. Bernardo on wide right can be ineffective a lot of times. Grealish is not very hard to defend against then Alvarez on the left is experimenting in a very high profile game which might hit us really hard.
