I think Lewis deserves a start
I think Guardiola’s “crazy plan” might have been to play Walker at centre half (to combat Rashford’s pace) and play Lewis at right back. After the first half at St Mary’s, I think he might’ve ditched that idea. Could be completely wrong of course, but makes me concerned about Stones’ fitness if he was considering that.

Fuck, i was hoping to see Ederson up top with Haaland in goal.

If we play as we can it will be a canter for City. I used to be a bit nervous playing Man yoo as they were far better fighters on the pitch but now it's a pleasure to put them in their place again and again and again.

i agree with you here i do think that was probably the crazy plan i dont think its to do with stones fitness i think it was pep trying to figure out where he thought rashford would play.

there is a real clear flaw in that plan in that walkers short passing game simply isnt good enough and lewis (who is great at what he does normally) will get sold short by walkers passing and get overrun.

There is a much clearer and easier solution to dealing with Rashfords pace and the pace of the other utd players and that is not to play everyone so so high...drop the high line a little....same happens most time we play spurs as well.....

Ederson
Walker Stones Ake Cancelo
KDB Rodri Bernardo
Mahrez Haaland Foden

Back to basics.

Cancelo looks far, far better on the left and him and Foden have a good understanding on that side.

We'll need to get a grip of rashford and antony, cutting out the supply to them will be half the battle
