United "buying title"?

What do you mean bought a player?! Its all their youth academy. My dad used to knock around with Cantona as a kid and Van Persie used to deliver papers round my grandads way

It was my uncle who first gave Hernandez his nickname, after an unfortunate toilet related accident back in school.

All very interesting, but can anyone tell me what that lot actually cost?

According to transfermarkt.co.uk since football was invented in the 92/93 season, the spend has been just shy of 660M with 363M coming in from sales.
Net spend of nearly 300M.
Some of the fees quoted look a bit dubious but that's what it says (in £££'s not Euros).

and if the link works, here's some detail

The scum are crap winners and crap losers.. They will always moan about City and pretend they spend fuck all to win trophies.... If I live to be a thousand I will never again be so happy as watching their faces at Sunderland when they got wind of Agueroooooooooo's cracker, winning us the title... If ever you Blues feel down just watch that again ;-)))))

Could give an indication of their modern day squad price

before the rags won the league in 94, the last time they won it was 67.

27 years of trying to buy the title. how many times did they break or equal the british transfer? a good few times.

it was easy to shut the rags up in the 80's.

shut up , we were the last team in manchester to win the league.
Before they won the league in 94 the last time they won it was 93. Good effort tho ;-)

Anderson was 18million, Ushited have to give the correct transfer fee because their a PLC.

Only Chelsea have spent more this season in the whole of England but you don't hear a whisper about United's lavish spending from the press, whereas with City or Chelsea it becomes "obscene" or something like that. Here's United's spend from Transfermarkt which seems to be the most reliable for actual fees - this is before addons for players like Zaha, Henriquez, and Powell that can push the fees higher (ie. Zaha to £15m). I think Kagawa's fee can also rise. Rumour has it United may not be finished yet with Zouma and Wanyama both heavily linked.
