United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

The rags have never had a DoF and indeed both Busby and Taggart were in control of everything. Since Taggart they have had a succession of managers who worked and recruited to their own strategy. Hence the squad is a real hotch potch. With the recruitment of a management team including a CEO, a DoF, and almost certainly a new head coach and team, it would be amazing if they did not improve. It will take longer than the laughable 3 years Jimrat has set but it will happen. First job will be to start selling the lame ducks they have now. No doubt the DoF has plans to transform their scouting and player appraisal.
Those who say it won’t happen are making one of the worst mistakes a company can make and that is to ignore competitors. I will lay heavy money that Soriano has his eyes and ears open for what is happening at the swamp. Ignoring it would be fatal. Of course we all hope it falls flat but it would be prudent to assume it doesn’t.
This is the realistic default position to adopt, not the arrogant, dismissive, belittling stance of the piss can 15 years ago.

Due to his dictatorship of that club ( and his involvement with horse spunk) he should be held primarily responsible for the first phase of their return to their historical position of mid table normality.

They can’t get that much worse.

12 months of a clear out of players and recruitment of an executive team, manager and coaching staff.

12 months Creating an elite sporting culture and mentality along with the first tranche of top players.

12 months of further player recruitment, qualification for CL ....and the momentum is created.

For most of this to happen most if not all the pieces will have to click flawlessly....and then some good fortune.

They will copy City,Brighton,Brentford etc and will have the continued,if not reinforced, support of all the authorities.

Remember the words of Scuddamore.....”The PL needs a successful
Yewnytid.

It can happen, if not in 3 years, because if that pile of shit can win 1 cup,get to a cup final, and get in the CL, proper management in all key areas will have a chance of improving on it.

It is up to the other top sides particularly Spuds,Vanilla and Georgies,to gird their loins, strengthen and put up the opposition that’s been absent in the past.

Our renaissance started somewhere !!

If they get any of those wrong they will get worse You have to take into account the finance behind doing all those, considering their current debt and need to met FSR. Other clubs will be alert to their need to sell to buy and most of them are shite so with the amortised value will result in a loss

But do they have the FFP/PSR margins to be able to go out and spend heavily on replacements for the donkeys that currently populate their squad?

And, more pertinently , will they be able to offload said donkeys, considering the salaries they are earning?

I can’t see them being able to do much for a few transfer windows.
Buying potential is where they are at. And again. So many teams have a head start on them.

Apparently they need to sell before they can buy to stay inside FFP/PSR.

It was never meant to be this way, with the Rags being hampered by the very mechanism they brought in to nobble City & help them maintain their dominance over English football.

You can see more rule changes being brought in this summer to ensure this happens. An Independent Regulator for English Football anyone?
