United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Just looking at the bigger picture.

We spent most of that 2nd half camped in our box unable to get out aimlessly punting the ball upfield. At home. To an absolutely shite United side.

The drop off from where we were 3 years ago is staggering.
Nah,

They had one chance, when the young Uncle Albert hit the volley that Donna tipped round the post.

The rest was just fluff. We had well worked clear cut chances that could have lead to 5 nil win.

Great to beat the rags and I would have taken 3-0 before the game all day, but it should have been more. We should really have had 5 goals. I thought Erling, Foden & Doku were all really good. Great debut from the new keeper. The defence still worries me, but I think we need a consistent back four so they can get used to playing together. The rags were really poor so it's hard to judge where we are, but we are making progress I think.

I felt quite subdued today and couldn't really get into it like normal for a derby, which I think was probably to do with the news about Ricky Hatton. It seemed like the match wasn't really all that important in the grand scheme of things.

Just watching MOTD, and I thought this at the time too, I’m sure the ref missed a back pass when Haaland challenged their keeper unless there’s something in the rules I don’t know about?
Has to be intentional pass - I didn’t think it was at the times just another fuck up from the rags defence/ keeper

Thought Savinhos body language was terrible when he came on and his performance did nothing to disprove the look of disinterest.

Hopefully a one off or he will soon get the move he wants…

Not sure if anyone noticed it but during a large portion of the warm up he was just on his own just farting around pissing around with a ball, no players were near him - looked like a proper sulk and very noticeable

Also noticed at the time how fired up Foden was in the warm - was t surprised by his performance at all

Absolutely love it, wasn't looking forward to the match after the awful news this Morning but we did it and as we all know, Manchester is blue!

Special thanks to the bloke on our row who spent a large amount of the match shouting at Scruffy Jim "the tax dodger" fuck me it gave us a laugh. Again hope Berrada went home wondering what the fuck he's done jumping ship to that sinking ship.
Whoa...
Agent Berrada and his sidekick, Wilco Wilcox, are doing an outstanding job...

Jesus, state of that lot.

Just needs Les Dawson stood amongst em with his little mic' saying "Blankety Blank" :-)
(Les Dawson Voice)

'After losing the match ruben amorim was asked, "What did you think of the performance today?", he replied "We we're....Blank!" To answer the question please welcome a lady with a great pair of Bristol City's Sam Fox!'

So there are some positives to being worse than we used to be

Our inability to pass as accurately as before, coupled with the fact we can’t play out from the back like we used to, means we don’t dominate games, resulting in us conceding possession, therefore…..

We actually get more counter attacking opportunities, which suits Earl, and is more exciting to watch than us labouring on the edge of the opposition box.

Earl
Doku
Foden
Khus

Excellent.

We still have big problems, and no chance of winning the league, but that games always about the result.

Very surprised to see Donnarumma be great with his feet and commanding as fuck at corners.

Khusanov could reach Zaba levels of hero.
Definitely got the same feeling about our new Zabba KHUSANOV a proper defender who's still learning his craft.
Imagine how Phil's feeling after today's goal remembering the insults at the swamp about his mum.
Haaland wanted to win today and it showed.
let's not get carried away with a good performance like we did after Wolves because both Wolves & Rags are Shite.
But plenty of positives to take from today.
The CITY is BLUE and always as been.
MIND THE GAP SCUM

Great result, but lets not get carried away by that scoreline. Still lots of issues in this side and didnt look like Guardiolas team at all for the last 25 minutes. Napoli and Arsenal are much harder and proper test for this team.Rodri will get back to his best, but other than that the midfield is pretty worrying. United is even worse than i thought ,still had about 3-4 chances to score.

Yes it sounds churlish to criticise after a 3-0 win against the rags but I understand what you mean. They had far too much of the ball for my liking and could have scored two or three themselves. At times they waltzed through our midfield and were also causing us problems on the flanks. We were careless and sloppy with some of our passing. At 2-0 a few years ago we would have just kept the ball and had them chasing shadows but today our tactics seemed to be let them have the ball and defend.
Still a derby win is always great but much tougher tests ahead and a lot of improvement needed.

My lad, who’s a ref, called it straight away.. screaming for a back pass free kick

Big Donna looked so secure, big Eddie doesn’t keep them out today, squeezed buttocks all round if they got one back
