United (H) Post Match Thread

Going into work? Try, "Brilliant tactics. Lulled us into a false sense of security by being absolute crap so we took it easy."

What worries me most is the lack of leadership. No one pulled the team together and settler them down after either of Pogba's goals.

Kompany gets a lot of credit as a "great leader" but I've never seen it. He's articulate in front of a camera, he clearly cares like a supporter does but he's never really seemed to be able to sort the lads out when necessary.

Even if Kompany is a good leader, he's nearly done with us and certainly no one else in the current side has shown any sense of leadership. Our vice captains of Dinho and Silva seem to get the armband simply because they're the eldest players.

Very worrying for a team with our ambition.

Starting to come round again and I'm looking for positives from yesterday. First of all, we as fans were tempting fate big style yesterday: "stand up for the champions" and "ole, ole and ole", and singing "ole' on every completed pass: I hate all of that nonsense. These are worst things we could ever do in terms of tempting fate, and besides it makes us sound like all the 'glory, glory' fans supporting United, Liverpool and Arsenal: the last thing we want to do is become like them and start bigging ourselves with our 'istree' etc. Their fans can sing those songs if they like and have everyone else reaching for the sick bag - but please not us. I hope we NEVER sing those songs again.
2 mins to go and 4.0 up I may Ole but yesterday was tempting fate big time.

The only good thing in the press today there are an awful lot of non-City fans who are beginning to see how badly refereeing has been against us this season and commenting as such on match report and match comment stories.

Really? I can count on one hand the amount of times I can remember crying.

Saying that, I’ve suffered with depression in my adulthood so maybe a good cry is a good thing to release a bit of tension every now and again?

Yeah I always do. Not necessarily with football but lost my mum when I was 24 suddenly and I cry for her every single day.
Plus I lost my girlfriend last year suddenly.
I miss them both.

Holy crap mate. That’s tough. Cry away. Nothing to be ashamed about but puts what is just a game of football into perspective.

Oh and looking on Facebook all the closet rags have been changing their profile photos to ‘Manchester is red’.

Fucking morons.

On block who I know has literally spent the whole season saying how much he hates Pogshit. Every post has been about how shite he is.

Yesterday ‘Pogba- different gravy’

Thank fuck I’m self employed and don’t have to go to work in an office full or rag shitheads tomorrow.
Two good goals but he didn't have a good game at all. & How a 6 foot 5 Black guy with Blue/white striped hair can ghost into our box unnoticed and plant a soft as shite header past Eddie will haunt me forever, well till Tuesday anyway.

The team that started the game were 2-0 (should have been more) up, battering the scum and in complete control, so his team selection was working well. I would suggest the mentality of the players played a bigger part in the second half than anything else. My only criticism I would throw at Pep for the game was the timing of the subs.
Given the chances we squandered it would have made sense to bring on a striker at half time. And also possibly bring on Kev at that time as well. A third goal soon after the break was what we needed to wrap the game and the championship. It didn't happen and Pep has let ALL City fans down I am afraid. He should have known how important it is for us to "stick it to the scum"

I don't know why they do it or sit there after the game. Is it to get on TV? I was so pissed off I just wanted to get home, draw the curtains and hibernate for the rest of the night. If this was the last game of the season and we had lost the title and been relegated maybe.

There is no pleasing some people on here they stayed till the end ffs

Funnily enough, I had the very same conversation with a mate after the Liverpool game. Now there was a time where if anything like these collapses looked remotely possible, that Kompany would be yelling, balling & putting everyone in place, but that's now 2 matches on the trot where we've collapsed defensively & all Kompany's done is throw his arms up & look midly disappointed.

Both matches were begging out for leadership on the pitch to get us back at it, & twice in the last week it wasn't there. Very odd.

Last week on TV here in NZ, an old "Live at the Apollo" - Jason Bamford - a brilliant comedian and huge City fan ......................

"I was playing fantasy football against United and we scored 1 then a second. I was elated but a little worried. Then United scored, oh no, and then a second, oh shit. And horror of horrors they scored a third in the 97th minute".

My wife reminded me of that last night when we had finished shedding tears at our most recent capitulation.

I’m just gonna say it and people can come for me if they want but I worry about this team. The vast majority are young and/or haven’t won serious silverware yet and i think that’s why we’re seeing these collapses, they’re not sure how to handle the pressure or get over the last hurdle, hence all these missed chances. And let’s be honest, kompany and Otamendi have always had the capacity to drop a bollock.

Pep now has to earn his money by giving them the warriors spirit. Only then will we get to where we should be.

I know what your saying, and with some of the players being young and in that category of not winning anything yet probably does play its part.

Just out of interest did the rags play loud music after the game in their dressing room?

He can solve the youngster problem by giving Yaya a game!!!!

I’m genuinely still fuming and upset and quite likely to give someone an earful today if they get on the wrong side of me - which if anyone knows me, is the last thing I’d normally do.
