United (H) Post Match Thread

Love Zabaleta! Also, Souness asking Gary if Mourinho is getting the best out of any of his players is pure comedy gold!

While we're getting so rhapsodic, have a look at Barney Ronay's piece in The Guardian about Silva & Aguero, describing City as "an annihilating sky blue super tanker" and "a freak wave hurtling up the beach."
But I'll offer a thought from an older time. Rudyard Kipling wrote "If you can meet with triumph and disaster/And treat these two imposters just the same." So enjoy it, Blues, this is the best time, enjoy it while it lasts.

or perhaps:-
This is the way the world ends, this is the way the world ends; not with a bang but a whimper.

Any of you reprobates in this pic?
Plenty of half n half whoppers though

Just watched the highlight. We absolutely battered them. Took the actual piss. That 3rd goal was something special. I didn't realise just how many passes there'd been at the time. Incredible stuff.

When I saw the teams yesterday I thought United were going to have real problems coping with City's front six (whichever six it was at the time) because of the immobility of the two central defenders and midfield three. Their only chance was to get enough big bodies forward and hope that Young could hit some crosses to them. Whatever nonsense is talked about last April 7 the "thrilling comeback" was NOT orchestrated Pogba but was the result of getting high enough, hitting the ball over and being able to use their height advantage. It was naive to believe that Pep and the boys would allow lightning to strike twice and the commentators' attempts to convince us that City are always likely to lose after taking the lead (our record?) were rather like trying to flog life into a dead horse. City's game management was excellent, and the idea that City let the pace slacken after 15 minutes may have some truth in it, but United NEVER got into the game because we didn't allow them into any areas where height was an advantage. Even when they got a set piece Stones, Laporte et al dealt convincingly with them. The second half showed that City simply suffocate mid table teams by taking the ball home and even after they scored from the penalty to breath apparent life into commentators' dead prophecies we simply stuck the ball up our jumper - until we stuck it in their net. Really enjoyable performance.

I got bored watching it. We need someone like Fellaini we can just lump the ball up to. (Sarcasm alert).

Great game and atmosphere. Although we totally bossed the game there was that nervy edge when only a goal in front as they are always capable of fluking one. That's why I could have bloody killed Eddie when he gave away the penalty! We had the two goal cushion and were controlling the game then he does that. The goalkeeping coach needs a word!

The two Silva's and Ferna magnificent, the defence brave and nerveless. We are light years in front of them.

A good read here.

Just seen the Ferna gif where he grips Mahrez by his shirt and bollocks him after losing possession, shows how much it means and the desire to win.

Nice to see their scummy fans are still just that, utter scum. Just after the whistle I was on a 216 bus back to town. As it filled up about 6-8 blokes got on, mixed age range, youngest probably early thirties. No colours they sat at the back of the bus and starting singing "We hate City" and other such shite. Things were getting tense as the bus filled up, unluckily for them there was loads of gmp in the vicinity who spotted what was going on and eventually boarded the bus by the fire exit at the back and booted the smumbags off. No wonder everyone hates them.
