How does picking the wrong team help him win more trophies?

Your comments make no sense in the context of our drubbings against Liverpool in the CL, ditto losing to Spurs, ditto Lyon, ditto Monaco etc. Pep just gets it wrong in the big games, consistently.

I love the guy and what he's brought to our club but he is not infallible and his ability to pick the right teams and play the right tactics, make the right subsitutions, in the biggest of games... is poor. Mourinho, for example, is streets ahead in that department*

We won't be winning the CL yet again this season and it is not because the squad is not good enough.




* less so in most others, obviously.

in the great scheme of things this wasn't one of the biggest games for us, no trophy ar stake so come back when at the end of the season when we're lifting the league trophy and the rags are lifting the we beat City cup

It is what it is, I had a feeling we would get beat and when I saw the team I knew we would. The rags have one attribute, pace, they are seriously quick. Pep left out Walker, Silva, Foden, Fernandinho and picked all our slower players.
Fair enough, 11 points clear, they would love to be us.
