United (H) Post Match Thread

End of a glorious winning run. Never even came close to hurting them. I thought they handled us without breaking sweat. Don't like the effect accommodating De Bruyne is having on us and the front 3 today were next to useless. Jesus's mistake was a massive part of the game and took us most of the first half to overcome. Foden and Bernie have to start in the big games now. Cancelo found wanting defensively today. They clearly targeted him.
No excuses for Pep today - got it badly wrong and City were abject for most of the game.
Still the bigger picture looks good if we can beat the Saints and then move forward to sewing up the league.
 
what i will say is why we carried KDB for the whole match ? not fit and walking around upfront
also aguero is now clearly finished at city when you see today and does not get on ? look nobody really cares that we lost today ? it was coming and over due but its because the scum did us take the piss out of pep and city again ?

big questions already being ask about pep and city big game mentality and this is why champions league is off the cards again because pep and city will just buckle

Team selection was completely wrong and as predicted our performance was at the level that we were at at the start of the season

KDB shoe horned in unblanaces the team - it exposes GUndogan and Rodri and Cancello (to a lesser extent).

Foden and Bernardo should be pissed off....Mahrez and Sterling need to be dropped. Mahrez again failing to turn up in a game that really means something......

Gabby - everyone knows the positives but the negatives are too big to ignore....a striker who chooses to pass instead of shoot and one who when he does shoot just isnt good enough

Pep has a problem in that h has to drop KDB but will he.

He also has to start giving Kun game time....I said a month or so back I believe Kun is being managed out of the team and nothing since has led me to believe different. Thats all well and good and I can understand it froma certain point of view but give him game time when others are not performing.

then you have two of Kun, Jesus, Mahrez and Sterling to pick from for the last two places...I would have had KDB on the bench so not including him in the starting line up options.
 
Fucking horrible performance from the first 30 seconds.

The moment Jesus gave the ball away and then tried to hard to get it back to give away the penalty said it all about what was to come. We tried to hard and didn't play with our usual rhythm and flow.

It exposed two players to what we've thought. Jesus busts his ass and tries hard, but he isn't the Aguero replacement and never will be. He was poor today.

Cancelo got exposed by Luke Shaw on more then one occasion of all people today as well, he's allowed a bad game after the season he's had but it's a worry with the big Champions League ties coming up, I'd prefer to see Cancelo at left back and Walker on the right in those big games if we play Cancelo.

De Bruyne, Mahrez & Sterling were poor today, absolutely poor.

Not playing Bernardo and Foden from the start was a odd decision as well, as we lacked the energy they provide.

We had just won 21 in a row, were always going to lose one eventually but it just had to be to those pricks didn't it

Yeah - I mean I worship Kev, but he was utter garbage. Had a game like FFS at his worst.

Raheem wasn't that far off. Jesus I don't think was as bad as people are making out (though he was still bad).
 
No Foden in a derby is criminal, he will feel how we feel but even worse. Pep has played right into utd's hands yet again. Brings walker on for cancelo with 20 minutes to go. So so disapointing when it seems so obvious that we need our attacking and quick players like Silva, Foden, and Walker.

Jesus - nope. I'm not having him.

The rest didnt cover themselves in glory, but those 4 should be singled (quadrupled?) Out.
 
Bone head foul / penalty by Jesus in the first minute placed doubt in everyone... Played tentative/ shite as a result. Agree that Foden Bernie should have started, KDB looked lost.
 
Well that was poor.

I was wrong thought we'd kick on at half time but it never came.

Just hope this is a kick up the arse to refocus on the four competitions.

Worrying that we looked so clueless with a high press. I suppose if KDB had had some form he could have picked the passes that opened them up but he's out of form. Would've preferred a dull 0-0.

Think B.Silva would have been a better option but hindsight is 100%.

Never will underplay a derby result. Thats something arrogant rags would do. Its shit, just hope it has a positive and its the last game we lose this season.
 
He changes the tactics and suddenly Gundogan and Rodri look shit again. I despair and he is all smiles hi5ing the rags. Anyway, all good. My 6yo boys were just accepted last week at the best football academy in Romania. One of them looks like the next Foden, the other one like Harwood Bellis. I am training them every day but, in 5 years from now, if they miss the chances like Sterling I would send them to tennis.
 
The only slightly systemically concerning thing about the game is everyone was fit so arguably the gaffer thinks that’s his best side.
 
Nearly every season, we shit the bed against them at our place. It's fucking annoying. Hand them the perfect start (thanks Gabby), then get caught by their most well know tactic (the counter attack) just after HT. Un be-fucking-lievable. We'll still win the league, of course. And come next June, this will be consigned to history, whatever that is. But right now, it's fucking hurting.
