Shit scared about Nunes starting to be honest

He owes us big time after his meltdown last season

I hope you're right. My issue is that I don't want us to go all out attack, and I don't think we will. We must learn the lesson at some stage of not playing into their hands and being open to be counter-attacked so easily - until we get well in front. They won't want to play football for the first 75 minutes if they can avoid it, but we need to avoid being sucked in and countered - again - by the scummy fuckers.

City owe us a result at the Etihad after last season's debacle, and I - for one - can't take that again!

I'll take 1-0 for us if necessary - just get the points!
We go after it we will be so exposed and their forward is made for that. The key, i think, is to man mark Fernandes and just make him play backwards all game. Give him freedom to pass then we have only ourselves to blame.

For some reason we stopped doing what had made us successful and decided to put our feet up and rest on our laurels
Severe lack of planning in Tixi's last season or so.. Pep needs a quality SD we failed misreably leading to ill thought buys in desperation..similar to Chelsea a couple years ago..panic buying

Feels like the first derby in quite a while, certainly at The Etihad, where many are expecting a defeat. United fans certainly seem to fancy their chances. Hopefully the bad start to the season and raft of injuries will create a bit of a siege mentality with the players, and we need the fans to make it as hostile as possible. For all our faults at the moment, it's important not to lose sight of the fact that United are shit too. They are there for the taking if we perform anything like we're capable of.

On a side note, could this be the first derby in history where both teams give goalkeepers their debuts?

These are definitely in the top 5 worst teams in the premier league and that's all bias aside. They can be completely played through if you move the ball quickly. Anything other than a comfortable win....
We are both mid table standard this season tbf.. can't see us or Utd beating many of the top 6 x teams this season tbf.. we are going to be fighting for 7 to 12 place this year i think..

In regards to siege mentality, really feels like we don't have that type of squad for the first time in a long time.

You think back over the last 10 years at the leaders and warriors we've had and this current side feels a bit weak to be honest. This last 12 months we have become a side that makes bad decisions/errors in critical moments of games and when we do always seem to pay heavily for it.

Can't believe the lack of confidence here. 11 v 11 no luck. We win handsomely. Ok football doesnt quite work like that. My 11 looks defensive but i would go for players who keep the ball rather than wingers.

Donnarumma
Khusanov
Gvardiol
Ait Nouri
Dias
Nunes
Rodri
Tijani
Silva
Foden
Haaland

The spine of our side will likely include Donnarumma, Dias, Rodri, Reijnders, Haaland. In last season's Etihad Derby, we had big name players in the side like Walker, KDB and Gundogan, but they were ineffective, and at the end of their careers.

its a great spine on paper. Dias bang out of form since we know when. Tijani finding his feet, Rodri trying to find his way back. Donnarumma debut. There are issues with that strong looking spine.

The nature of the comments posted here makes me wonder about their authenticity. There is little love, or knowledge apparent, and those qualities define football fans.

There's always issues. I still like it. Dias had a strong 2nd half to last season. I don't see weakness there. Tijani is finding his feet but he is also playing well. Even against Spurs at home, when we played a very bad game, I thought he was one of our better players.
