Having seen the reports from training, it appears that Kovacic, Marmoush, Cherki, Ait-Nouri, Stones are out.

I believe that Khusanov, Rodri and Reijnders will all start and that they will effectively replace Walker, Gundogan and KDB who played in their positions in last season's Etihad Derby. That's an upgrade because Walker, Gundogan and KDB were playing on fumes last season. I also think that if Doku and Bobb play will cause Utd a lot of problems.

It's possible to shut Doku down if you have a spare defender but if they try that, City can switch play to Bobb who they will underestimate.

Obviously we don't see what goes on really in the club so this might be unfair, but to me Phillips hasn't really shown the drive and desire to prove himself and his worth to the squad that Delph and Zinchenko did.

Also he can't really run.

We lose this game and we will be 4 points behind a team that people on here take the piss out of, I hate the rags with a passion, I hate derbies, but if we lose this game then seriois questions need to be asked, that would be 3 defeats in 4 games, if that were the rags or dippers we would be doing a save who ever campaign

We are at our best with a midfield 3 of Rodri, Reminders and Foden so I’d hope to see that but I can’t help but think he will go with experience and drop Bernardo in the 3 and Foden out wide, I can’t help see Doku staring instead of Nico G though.

I watched a clip of Our game v Spurs at the weekend. The 4-2 one where we were 2-0 down at half time. That game was completely turned around by Mahrez who was sublime. Have we got match winners like that now that he and KDB has gone? Players who can take games by the scruff of the neck like that? Can you ever see Doku doing that or Savinho?

This game is must win and the players who start need to take it by the scruff of the neck. A performance anything like the Spurs one or Brighton second half capitulation will be totally unacceptable. We need to go for their throats.

Agreed. But that’s the issue with buying potential rather than readymade world class ability.

Mahrez was mustard when we got him and was only going to get better.

We need to shop at that table again. Donnarumma is a good start.

Too early for Donnarumma so Trafford continues in net. As much pace in the back line as possible. Rodri can't play 3 games in a week yet and this is the weakest opposition we will face. Reijnders has looked useless as the 8 so far, has to play more advanced as the 10. Foden given the nod on past performances and hope he turns up, wouldn't be unhappy with Bobb instead.

That side is comfortably better than anything United can put out on paper so then its about tactics and whether Pep stops sending us out to lose. Nothing less than a win is acceptable here.

Surely the easier option is just to play RAN at right back until January. Clearly he’s very two footed. Ake/Gvardiol can cover left back.
