A utd fan? Fuck, no. I actually posted as a neutral fan.
If you do that, then how do know if Bluemoon is authentic? I know a lot of match-day City fans and their views are quite different to what are posted on here. Every City fan I know, completely adores Pep, and yet if you read this forum, you would think otherwise.

There are a number of journalists who use Bluemoon. They must be completely confused.

Today I think is the day the penny drops for people where they realise it’s not a blip, it’s not a bad patch.
We are just a very ordinary side.
We are at the stage where people say, yeah we won’t win it, just need to get top 4 etc.. Top 4 is not our current level. We are mid table at best standard and it’s a worry.

At the minute there’s not much anger due to what we’ve achieved in previous years but I just think a derby loss, again, and another bad defensive display will make people’s attitudes change. Not saying it will go toxic but fans can be pissed off. There’s nothing wrong with having high expectations and if the team and club aren’t achieving certain levels we should put more pressure on. It’s been a year now of averageness.

It’s a big big game today for us.
Totally agree.

For me, today represents the first time I’ll judge whether Pep is going to try to evolve the side and gameplay or whether…..as most of us think, he’s going to keep doing the same things but with players who are not at the same standard as we’ve had in the past..

If the former then I think we might do well this season….the latter doesn’t bear thinking about

Not sure what you're getting at. I think most people realise that the average online City fan (or indeed any club's fans) are a different beast to the match going fan. Witness the match threads. No way would some of the stuff posted on there be said at the ground. Or the scapegoating of certain players. The anonymity of the internet gives some people the bravado/courage to post any old nonsense. How do I know you're "authentic"? Or vice versa? I could be a long time Forest Green Rovers fan lurking on here.

Anyway; let's try to stick to the subject of the thread, please.

Nice to see West Ham have banned half & half scarves for the game with Spurs. Would be great if other clubs followed suit. This game would’ve been the perfect opportunity for us to do the same. I hate them full stop but seeing them at a derby boils my blood!
Chelsea banned the sale of ‘Friendship’ scarves for all games years ago n’all.

And you never see any of these stupid scarves in the crowd at Anfield.

Well it’s finally happened guys, my rag brother in law of 40 years has suddenly appeared out of the ether and wants to watch the derby together. Not heard a peep from him the best part of 10 years about football infact last time we talked about it he was not interested anymore and he’s watching his local Sunday league team.
Wants me to wear my city shirt etc.
Typical rag behavior and he’s an in intelligent guy aswell lol.
We better beat these cunts today can’t be having this wanker wiping away 12 years of dross.

Yep, this is the game no fan can hide from.
If the fight is out of the dog, today will prove it.

While I certainly don’t think we’re title challenger standard anymore, we don’t really know where we are exactly in our level below that yet. Far too early to judge.

We could be anything between a distant 3rd again or 8th. It’s hard to tell.

We don’t know how well our key injured players and out of form players from last season (Stones Aké Dias Rodri Foden) are going to recover and perform this season. And we don’t know how well our newer players (Donnarumma Khusanov Ait-Noiri Nico Reijnders Cherki Marmoush) are going to perform. And we don’t know how players who it’s about time they take the next step up for us (Doku Savinho Bobb Lewis) are going to perform.

If the ones who missed a lot last season, stay fit and play well, added to even half the new signings having a good season and Doku Savinho and Bobb start to increase their output as they start to get a bit older now… we could easily finish 3rd and even with a better points total than last season.
If these players remain injury prone or don’t hit their previous heights, added to most of the new signings not settling and Doku Savinho and Bobb remaining players who lack end product… we could easily finish 8th.
If there’s a bit of half-n-half with them all… we could finish 5th.

Who knows?

We need to be patient with this squad and get real a bit, but we don’t really know what we are yet. It’s going to be about 12 games in before we start to gain a better understanding of what this squad is.

You have to remember that we are around 4-6 games behind most other teams who’ve had a proper pre-season n’all. It will probably be another few weeks before we’re where we’d want to be fitness-wise for a high performance season.

Plus our best player from last season - Gvardiol - hasn’t played yet.

We could also work out a formation that would see us transform the way we play and do really well. Say, for example:

————————————Donnarumma——————————
—————Khusanov——-Stones———Gvardiol—————
Nunes——————————Rodri————————Ait-Nouri
———————Cherki——Reijnders——Foden——————
—————————————Haaland————————————-

…could become a formation and line-up that really suits us.

Who knows?

Probably been spoken about already but don’t like this comment from Erling before a big a game!

Manchester City are not the "same team anymore"

Think it’s unsettling to the rest of the team, surely saying that publicly is not a positive thing to say. Not sure what angle he is coming from at all.

A wave is by definition positive and negative in it's amplitude, some are stationary, but some have a velocity.
