The only game with a disappointing attendance has been this game against Fulham. I agree it's the number of games. The match-price was reduced. You could always go further but we're at the point where it's not the ticket price but travel costs that's an issue. There's too much football. We're at saturation and I agree with Pep that the League Cup should be scrapped. I'll go to the games but when there's so much football fans will inevitably start to pick and choose especially when a lot of clubs play weakened teams.Because there are so many games we have to reduce ticket prices for the cup matches if we want to sell out. We should be building our brand by having full grounds with a better atmosphere.
The Cup games like today and the CL games allow none-seasoncard holders to go to a game. A bit insulting to call them tourists.
Not everyone can have a seasoncard because they are capped and not everyone can afford to go to every game with matchday prices.
We seem to have a chicken and egg situation here. When I started going in the 70s, my Dad took me to league games on a Saturday at 3pm. That's very difficult nowadays. We need a bigger stadium but then the explanation I've heard for the delay in the North stand extension is that "we need to being selling out every game". The experience of going to a league game is better than Cup games against lower league opposition.I'm seeing this seasoncard/tourist dichotomy more than I used to. I've had a seasoncard in the past, and would like one now but wasn't successful. Since I was about 4 years old I've gone to 5 - 15 games a season. So no York away, but I did my time in the second division. To be honest, it's *that* crowd that city needs to attract! People who are moving to Ancoats etc.
Not sure City have a say in the matter of your train fare or whether BBC choose to show the game.He wanted the competition scrapped last week, perhaps he should make his mind up ?
He could afford to buy us all a ticket today from his pocket change, so its a bit rich being lectured by a multi millionaire. £72 return on the train today for me, for a game that could have been a Saturday 3:00pm ko, but for City chasing the ££££ from TV, all on trains that were fucked about all over the place too.
For those that are traveling up the m6 on Wednesday it’s going to be shut every night this week between junctions 14-15 if I remember rightly . It was on the gantrys on Saturday when we drove up. Won’t be a problem going but will be the usual shit going home , being diverted off the motorway.
Ena is never off there
