United Home League Cup Tickets

Well I disagree, four Wembley cup-finals and wins (hopefully soon to be five) in a few short years and people aren't bothered about the league cup anymore? Ten years ago we couldn't dream of such success.

Instead of dropping cup games drop the stupid international breaks between August and November, the season doesn't even seem to get going any more until late November, the first months are just constant stop/start.
I am with you on the internationals. However I think there is too much football. Klopp has taken matters into his own hands and decided to play fringe and young players in the domestic Cups.

I can see what Pep means when he says quality over quantity. If fans feel that they are going to watch a procession as City steamroller a weakened opponent resting their best players they are quite likely to watch on TV.

Yep. I think ultimately city's main problem right now is that they have the 32000 die hards, and they're doing ok with tourists, but they need to grow what is probably double or triple the 20,000 or so fans who will go to 5 games a season. Manchester is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, so there's loads of scope for it, but it's not quite working right now, which puts more pressure on the die hards. Going to the football is a habit, and as you point out it's not the easiest habit to get into right now.

Put in personal terms, if they open up another 10000 seasoncards at <£500, I'd snap one up, but who is going to replace me coming to a mix of league and most cup games?
Tourists? We haven't had a single glamour game at City since Spurs last season.

Level 1 and 2 blocks were greyed out for the Fulham game, but there were loads of empty seats in each block.

Hopefully that isn’t the case on Wednesday night?

Once again the North Stand is the issue, bar tickets still remaining in L3 of the CB and the ES.

According to the Traffic England website... http://www.trafficengland.com/traffic-report it's only northbound that is completely closed overnight (J13-J16) which should finish at 6am and start again 9/10pm. Neither of which should really affect City fans, unless they're REALLY early starters! Some lane closures southbound after the match, so maybe lots of traffic, but not closed completely.

Thanks for the info though, made me remember to check the rest of my route!
Thanks for the update , it was just something that caught my attention on Saturday , only got to see it once and wasn’t sure what the full message was other than night closures.

I think at £10 a ticket, some people just don’t show and don’t bother passing tickets on.

Just bought 2 adult tickets @£30 each in the family stand. We arent in the cup scheme but still go to most cup games. Just wanted to add that if you are in the cup scheme how on earth can you justify not going to this game? This lot had the upper hand over us for decades barring the odd glimmer of blue light. Now that we have a chance to dish out a proper humiliating beating I want to be there to witness and enjoy it every single time.

Why is the north stand the issue? I can’t see more than a few hundred left unless I’m missing something, which is possible!

A lot sold today. 3730 left online now and they have added extra seats during the day (which means that what's on the plan doesn't necessarily mean that's what's left so that's a minimum figure that's left).

I think JRB is referring to the the number of empty spaces in the Family Stand against Fulham. City had greyed it out on the online plan in the last few days of sale so that only EL3 was available and some seats on the first tier of the main stands and yet come match day there were quite a few empty seats in the family stand.

I think this is down to the way they sell seats online. when a block goes to singles they often take if offline as they take a lot longer to sell than sets together.

I think City should have a word with GMPTE about Northern Rail. I came in on the Sheffield line that morning and there was only 1 train per hour. It was a stopping service and there were loads of City fans who just couldn't get on the carriages as they were packed (combination of reduced service, Chinese NY and the football I think). I doubt that those blues would have been made it to the ground. They probably went home and watched it on TV.
