I've lived in Manchester for all but one year of my life and I know one, just ONE person who went to the big parade. And he's a Southerner! He claimed there were loads there today. Well, he would do, wouldn't he? The few other rags I know have all got a convenient excuse; mind you, they've had years to perfect them as they don't go to matches either, oddly enough.

The fact is that for the fans of the world's biggest/greatest blah, blah, blah who have been bragging that it's all about cups for years and have been banging on for a week or so now about how pitiful our parade was (I didn't think so; I thoroughly enjoyed the night although I accept that it wasn't on the scale of theirs in 1999) never mind 19 this, 19 that and 19 the other, today was totally and utterly embarrassing, and I fail to see how they will ever live it down.

Exactly Noel - the amount that turned up in 1999 was off the scale - I'll readily admit that. But it was a one-off that will almost certainly never be repeated.

There was fuck all wrong with the numbers that turned up at our parade last week and the comparison should never be made to theirs in 1999 but to theirs today. That's far more relevant. And all the evidence points towards a piss-poor turnout for them today whichever way they try and dress it up.

And for all you Red Cafe lurkers, the reason why we've gone to town so much on this topic is because you lot were creaming your pants about our supposed pathetic turnout last week - you can't have it both fucking ways. Fact is Waltraute (and I seriously expected better from you - btw, how can you pass any sort of judgement when you were at home in Sweden or wherever it is you live these days, and no doubt relying mainly on the more flattering footage provided by PRAVDA, sorry MUTV?), Feeky, Utd Heap, et al if you hadn't bothered ripping the piss last week on your site I doubt many people would've bothered doing the same on here. That's not being obsessed and bitter - that's called getting our own back.
