A fear of mine from today's events?
I brought this up months ago but it seems relevant to bring it up again today. The turnout for united's parade to celebrate them becoming the most successful team in england was pathetic and the excuses from the majority of them who didn't go is even more pathetic.
I've been taking the piss out of them all day for it and the replies i have got back have included "it was wet", "it was too early on a bank holiday" and the most shocking of all "why do i need to get out of bed early, go into town in the pissing rain and see a bus go past for 10 seconds when i saw them lift it last week? i can watch it on TV in my bed". That comment has been said to me 4 or 5 times today and half of them visit Old Trafford once a year to pick up their new shirt.
I am seriously worried we will get like this if we were to have a similar success to what they have had for the last 20 years. What if we were to win 3 premier leagues or 3 champions leagues on the trot, would we get fans who wouldn't go to the 3rd one because they have already seen the 1st and 2nd one in previous years?
For me EVERY trophy we win should be paraded and shown off as before you know it you could be waiting 35 years for the next one.
