Just had a picture message from a rag at work, he was holding a paper up with the words 200k turn up in the rain!
Which paper was this in..the Sun maybe?
Can anybody actully find out how many turned up? doesnt look that many from the pics etc!
Keep up the good work fellow blues!!

Did he go?

funny thing is the rags that went said it was embarrassing turnout! Those who stayed at home think that 200k turned out!

Did he go?
Errr let me think?? NO!
He is a big fat excuse of a rag from Saaallllffford!!
Always giving it the 'big I am' where we work and I always fuck him right off!
This very same lad said he was at the Nou Camp when they won the European cup (although Ive yet to meet one of the fu*kers who wasn't there 'that night'!)
He also claimed to have been at the OT derby last season when owen made it 4-3....however I know for a FACT he was working because I fill in his time sheets the thick fat rag tw*t!

200k pmsl!

My Mrs went to Deansgate as she had stuff to return to Primark later on, I asked her if it was busy and this was the conversation :-
Her - " Nah, there was hardly anyone there",
Me - " No I was talking about the parade not Primark",
Her - " So was I".

Love my Mrs, probably the most honest united fan out there.

No surprise there then!

They read it in the Sun and think it's the gospel!

Sad really that papers have this much power on brain dead people who can't think for them selves!

Mike Wedderburn on SSN 'i believe the crowd was almost two deep in places'

Haha, the man is gaining legendary status quickly...!

yep saw that !! his smirk was priceless. :)

YOUTUBE - I need to see a youtube of this :) Better yet, can someone do one of those GIFs for it......
http://vimeo.com/24452487

Can't cut & paste from the MUEN at the moment as it's off-line (probably doctoring all the photos and videos that would show how few were actually there) but there was a statement from the police where they refused to give their estimate of the actual crowd but merely said it was "in the tens of thousands."

So the Old Trafford branch of the Ministry of Truth have even got to GMP now.

SSN NEWSFLASH !! : Sky sources report that Jesus of Nazareth was at the manchester united parade carrying baskets of fish and bread and feeding the masses, his disciple John of Aremathia said " we brought enough with us to feed five thousand but at the end of the day had to take some back to Asda's- we got a refund though, which was nice".

I have submitted a question on the MEN live webchat that is happening at 12pm. I have asked why they think the turnout was so poor yesterday, was it because of the bad weather? I would be very surprised if my question sees any kind of answer!

Here's the full story:
Anticipated crowds of up to 150,000 failed to materialise as driving rain coupled with the Reds’ loss to Barcelona in Saturday's Champions League final hit numbers.

No arrests were made – and supporters were praised by Assistant Chief Constable Ian Hopkins, who oversaw the police operation from GMP’s Sedgley Park command centre.

He said: "We were really pleased with how it went. There were no arrests and everyone behaved incredibly well. Although the numbers were considerably less than we expected it’s testimony to the fans that they have turned out in their thousands on what has been a pretty miserable, wet day in Manchester."

Police were reluctant to release a figure of those who attended the United parade, describing it as ‘in the tens of thousands’.
So for all you RagCafe lurkers - stick your 150,000 up your arse along with your banner. Manchester is Blue!

I asked if we can now put to bed the myth that Manchester has as many rags as blues. Don't expect a response as the site shut down just after I posted it!

I meant to say this yesterday mate - fair play to your Mrs for both turning up and also having the honesty to admit it was a poor turnout. Not all Rags are deluded about this - my boss came in this morning and he'll get all defensive about them when he wants but he came straight out with it "From what I saw of our parade yesterday, not many turned up", going on to say that all he could see for the most part were the same people following the bus!

That'll be newspeak for 20 thousand, then. A truly embarrassing figure, especially as a rainy day in Manchester is as common to the locals as a cold day in Newcastle (and we generally have umbrellas).

Classic Thread!

I've asked every Rag I know if they went to their parade and not one of them did.

Excuses were:
Oh I forgot
I was out
It was raining
I watched it on tv
I've seen it all before

Funny thing is one of them, Mr Big I am, Mr United himself is now trying to say I'm talking bollocks, after the joke messages I have bombarded him with today about their pathetic turnout. He never even went himself!! Haha

He is under the illusion we were only at Albert Sq and the Ground nowhere else on the streets?? Told him the pics and vids all over the net prove the truth.

Think he is a bit upset now, (he probably knows I'm right) because he is now bombarding me with texts about their ground is always full and ours isn't, and they have won the league 19 times, blah, blah, blah.

Shame he never made up the small numbers to celebrate it then!

LOL!

Saddo!

Would be good to get some comparison pictures up from the mighty peterbrough or the giants that are stevenage parades and compare them to the rags's parade.
