You'd think since watching him play against Leicester at home he would of realised not to play him.Everyone also said if Otamendi wasn't fit it had to be Sagna at Centre Back for pace. What does he go and do? Plays our slowest Centre back. It really is worrying our fans have better tactical know how than our manager
This fool will just play his mates, probably promised him gametime and he won't go back on his word.

Next year will be different and I would be very surprised if you didnt renew.Great post and I feel exactly the same way. I have never ( well season under Pearce was dire ) felt so detached, disinterested and bored by a City team and that's having watched them for close on 60 years.
My son and myself ( for several reasons but cetainly not helped by the current malaise ) are seriously questioning whether to renew our Seasoncards .
But yes, boring has been the word lately, embarrasing. This manager needs to go, we're going downhill fast

I agree mate it came from frig all but and we made it easy for them. We made Mata's mind up by committing to him, and we made Rashford's mind up by going to ground. They actually had to do almost nothing for the goal.
I came home and informed Mrs Ewing that had one of our players picked the ball up and run into the goal it would have been the next easiest thing down the line from what actually happened!
I wonder if they will look at the video of that goal and do summat about it. I think not, considering the number of goals we have conceded this season that are pretty much in that category!

Equally angry that Nacho was not given a chance. Rashford and Martial were the only threat for the rags and they are the same age as Kelechi.
It was actually going OK for the first 15 minuets but Sterling's injury messed up the formation and pace of attack.
Anyway, on another day, Kun might have scored 2 or 3 and we were unlucky not to take at least a point away.
All the players [including Martin] did their best. The only person to blame is the fella who picked them. We will rise again. Have faith.

Losing a derby has always made me feel gutted. Particularly when the rags are shit.
We looked like we stepped onto the pitch half-asleep when the match began. Playing a two men midfield was not that much of a problem itself, but when the line between defence and midfield became fucking huge that we allowed huge space for them to play their passing game comfortably, there was a high chance that their insipid attack (not that we were much better in the first half) would score. And then you have Demi against the likes of Jesse Lingard and Rashford. The last thing they lack would be energy and pace, which unfortunately for Demichellis, was lost through the years. More baffling tactics from the manager indeed.
In the second half, we were playing much better. Far from a vintage performance, but then we were better than United. Defensively we were more solid, possibly due to the presence of Fernando and the absence of Demichellis, and the attack regained their some of their urgency. However, our attack has been a great problem this season. And it seems to be even worse in these last few games. The attacking movement has improved from the last few games in the second half, but 3 shots on target out of 26 reflected clearly that we are a side misfiring at the moment. Now our goal-scoring threat only comes from Kun, and Nacho could not share this burden from the bench. As for Bony, let's just say that he was not that great a striker at the moment. However, for all I wanted Nacho to play, Bony improved in this game. At least he started getting into the box, though he should be choosing to shoot at a better time. A lot of his shots were blocked in the game. Navas was hard-working and ran past people and all that, but his end-product was far from good enough to save the team. He didn't get into very good positions either.
Silva was kicked and outmuscled a lot in what was a very poor first half performance from him, but then he should have taken more risks, made decisions faster and moved more. Nonetheless, I thought he was back to shades of "Merlin" in the second half. The two balls he played to Aguero were sublime, as well as some of his interplays with other players. These moments need to happen more often, for few in our team can replicate what he did before he was injured. Yaya and Nasri could do that, but Yaya was better dictating from deep and Nasri was injured. Having KDB back would help a lot, but his style was ultimately very different and I doubt having him back would solve all our problems in attack.
While it was good to see Kun going all over the pitch, I thought it posed a problem in our attack. His desire to help the team was very admirable, but it didn't help that when we attacked , he sometimes wasn't in the box. And sometimes he tried to do too much. It was great when you can dribble past defenders until you were almost one on one, but sometimes it may be better to unload some of the burden on his shoulders to others like Bony. I understand that it must be frustrating for him when our support in attack was nearly non-existent. Yet doing less may help him get his potent shooting boot back.
Yaya played very well yesterday, putting in a very creative performance without neglecting his defensive role. Kun as well for most parts except shooting. Mangala was very good too. If he could replicate such performances consistently, then defence would be much less a worry.
I don't know why that every time we played badly, some would put that down to a lack of desire. It was probably a straightforward explanation for our problems this season, but the world is not that simple. Yesterday every player on the pitch put in a shift, especially in the second half. And their dejection and frustration was palpable at the end of the pitch. They were probably angry at their own performance as well. Nonetheless, people have to remember the players were probably low at confidence at the moment and some of them were not even fit enough. This brings me to another gloomy prospect.
Hart and Sterling were the latest to join the lengthy injury list. Having Willy in goal instead just makes me worried. And why are there so many muscle injuries? The club must look into it. Are we playing too many games? How on earth does Pellegrini conduct training? Do the management and the board put enough emphasis on fitness despite our state-of-the-art medical centre? This is more likely to be a systemic issue than the problem caused by incompetent physios, for doctors can only offer advice. Those in the upper hierarchy made the final decision.
Zaba's recent comments on players distracted by transfer regulations were concerning as well. In hindsight, the decision to announce Pep's arrival seems imprudent. Maybe as fans we have played a role in that too. Since the announcement there have been many threads on shipping players out, and a number of them were talking about a major overhaul that involved more than 10 players. So we have unknowingly provided ideas to the media who wish to stir up as many crises as possible. I'm not saying these from a moral high horse either, for I have contributed my two cents in that discussion too. Now I would just refrain from doing so for the rest of the season.

Try this on derby match day, of course I drive to the game, not sure how you get there but good tip for those of us who drive to games.
Whilst in the car driving to the stadium dont put the radio on and listen to any sports shite, listen to your own music.
When driving home from the game same policy, dont even be tempted to flick talkshite on or any radio. Put your own music on, drink a strong coffee.
Get home and dont think about the game, after a couple of hours look at the match stats, form your own opinion of the game from stats and what you so.
Today i looked at the league, still 4th and got Guardiola coming next season, its great being a blue :-)

Sadly, this shit is true. Worst bit is pep is only here for three years as well. The men in suits upstairs have totally cocked up these past couple of years and now we're in a shit position. Similar to Liverpool, we'll have a great manager with 1/2 top players mixed in with a load of average ones. Without CL I'm not sure that top tier footballer would want to move to us.
Makes you think, without CL football, would a top top player come to us and Pep or, Klopp and their 'istry and everything.
Taking the blue tinted specs off, you'd have to say most would choose the dippers :-(

When Hart got injured, was it just me and the united forwards who could see that he was going to play it short? I'm sure he wanted to play it to Mangala first until Mangala told him to fuck off because he could see what was going to happen. Hart therefore plays it to the fuckwit Demichelis who doesn't even look where his back pass is going.
From what I could see, Hart gave up the chance to twat the ball into united's half from a dead ball with no forwards within 12 yards and instead chose to play a one-two and then twat the ball into united's half with a 20 year old striker sprinting at him.

hello mossideblue, demichelis should of been picked, he got caught out for pace countless times. as for the attack we dont get forward fast enough or get enough bodies into the box and those that do lose their way and find themselves there we play to feet which usually means we have our backs to goal

think i`ve said this before but heyho having one of the ferns and toure in central mid/f doesnt give our defence enough protection
its not people who count its the manager who likes all the team to be on the,front foot,,the problem to my untrained eye is we dont really know if we should be staying or goingJust a point about the pressing. I think as a team they are under instruction to play a high risk pressing game.
For their goal, Fernandinho tried to press Mata when he only had a small chance of intercepting the ball, so Mata played a one-two around him and was in behind him.
MOTD showed how often they got in behind the midfield and each time it was Fernandinho making a poor decision to come out from his position to press, without thought to the gap he was leaving behind. It isn't a player intelligence thing I don't think because once he moved to centre back, Fernando did exactly the same thing.
It's exactly the same mistake that Otamendi will make by rushing out of position to fully commit to a tackle or interception and it causes us problem after problem.
All season we have complained about Yaya not being able to play in a two, yet in reality we could actually get away with it (dependent on opposition) if our defensive midfielder and our centre backs actually just played a containing game rather than an aggressive one man press.
Problem is, people like to see a midfielder running around showing passion and they like to see a committed centre back leading on the front foot, but it is causing us huge problems.
