but the SSN breaking news says: United Post Full-Year Operating Profit of £100m.

lmao.

On a serious note, this interest rolls up on the PIK notes right? So the level of interest is only going to get larger and larger. How can UEFA possibly ignore this?

Re: United Report Loss of £83.6m

I'm as useful as a chocolate fireguard when it comes to financial stuff but isn't operating profit just one part of a financial breakdown that ignores losses and such?

If it is, and they have indeed made an overall loss of £80M+ despite no big signings coming in then it's absolutely laughable how SSN are trying to brush it under the carpet when they tried their best to hang us out to dry.

Wankers.

Re: United Report Loss of £83.6m

Some more details.

Turnover -- £286m
Costs -- (£186m)
Operating Profit -- £100m

But then:

£40.2m in interest
£40.7m termination of rate swap
£19.3m currency exchanges
£30.4m net on players

Re: United Report Loss of £83.6m

Operating profit is just an indication of one aspect of how a business performs.

At the end of the day in business all that matters (unless you have a very rich owner who has just made another £2.5bill) is bottom line.

And the bottom line for Utd = Fucked!!

Utd will be where Liverpool are are two years time.

operating profit is made on their day to day global business. (tickets, merchandise, tv money, etc). the overall loss kicks in because of interest payments, currency adjustments & other financial millstones.

the rags lost big money but because their core business runs at a profit monsieur platini is happy.

Not sure how it works. But when all is added up they lost £83.6m - didn't make a penny.

The £100m is the profit from the costs of operating the business, doesn't account for loans, buying players, fee's, Glazers summer holiday etc

Rag financial results

Just been on five live, overall loss of £80 miliion and debt risen to £521 million, the correspondent said this was not all of the debt but didn't elaborate.........tick tock!!!!!
