Re: United thread 2011/12

I dont think they will raise a lot of money , US is not the right place for football, except from large investement houses , not a lot of investors will show interest , not a lot united supporters in US , and supporters of other clubs wont buy shares anyway

One other doubt , why will any big investor invest in this ipo , given the fact that the price will be very constant and very much dependent on field success? They will also not pay any dividends

Re: United thread 2011/12

IPOs are basically dead after the Facebook failure.

Their shareholders are going to want to see profits, meaning costs will continue to be kept to a minimum. Publicly traded companies are run like Arsenal, not City.

@david_conn: Manchester United's flotation document states that the Glazers were paid £10m in April, to repay £10m loan taken out previously #mufc

lol

Re: Pride of the Cayman Islands

Haven't they tried to go public in two other locations so far and failed to actually go the distance both times?

Can someone explain this as simply as possible, are the rags going to have more money to spend again if this goes through? :/
They issue more shares and if these aren't taken up then the Banks which underwrite the deal take them up so utd will get their $100m. Who knows what they will do with the monies raised.

POcket the lot, or pay everyone's wages
