If Ferguson is descending down to "save the day" the bad thing about that for them is that it indicates that the club will never get out of his shadow. I mean if Moyes leaves, and then the new manager has a few draws, won't the camera still pan to Ferguson chewing gum in the stands? (yes I know the manager on the touchline doesn't actually see that)
Whoever is the manager--whether Moyes, or whoever they bring in will need to be the commander of the ship. No manager there will ever be respected if there is the feeling that Ferguson is "on-call".
