Bet Moyes wishes he wasnt so scared of benching him on 70 as was originally planned given his recovery plan.

It surely can't be a coincidence that Van Persie managed to stay fit last season but as soon as Moyes and his dubious training and antiquated fitness techniques comes along he's constantly injured?

Or is it just the good old RVP that we knew and loved from his Arsenal days has returned? Constantly injured, missing more games than he plays? He's 30 now so his ability to withstand injuries is hardly going to improve over time.

Maybe moyes should have shown some conviction and not played him for the full 90 last match because he was worried what people would say if he brought him off.

Probably more than likely that the old regime would give him injections just to get him on the pitch in the first place and this is now the knock on effect.

Didn't a couple of ex players for them, say they were forced to have them in the past?

Merry Christmas: jrb Has A Christmas Present For You All

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been ruled out for a month with a thigh strain.

The Dutchman, 30, was injured while taking the corner that led to Phil Jones' winner against Champions League opponents Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.

United will play eight matches in the next month before facing Chelsea in the Premier League on 19 January
