The twat on TS talking up rags as if they´ll always be a shoe in regarding the markets. As a so called financial analyst he should look no further than Nokia to see how quickly the might can fall
More than a whiff of raggery

This afternoon Moyes was in Italy to watch Vidal, Marchisio and Astori in Cagliari-Juve.
He was a bit bewildered, he only nipped out for some sardines.

I was in Currys yesterday looking at a Washing machine. Doesn't mean I'm gonna buy one or indeed can afford one.

On the other hand, why would you leave title challenging Juve at this present time for manyoooo?

For my entire school life the "followers" of these ***** took the piss, going to a greater Manchester primary school out in the sticks, I was the only City fan in a class of 30, 29 being rags.

My dad recalls, and still mentions it to this day, me approaching him as a very young nipper asking "dad why do we support City?"... he said " what do you mean?".... I said "well everybody else at school supports Utd". He goes on to say "what everyone???".... I said " yeah everyone but me".

This was the mid 90's and he was taken aback by the fact I was the only blue in a class of 30, yet being a 30 min drive from Manchester's centre. I remember going to school after County had beat us and getting the piss ripped out of me, I was Jimmy Grimble essentially. I got to secondary after this and there was a small group of us blues who stuck together, derby defeat after defeat, after defeat, after defeat, we still wore our City shirts under the school uniform the next day to reveal them at lunch time footy. We didn't give a shit, City were a cult and Utd were the establishment, the *****, the team every sheep supported. We were the rebels, the team that always lost and fucked things up.

The more Utd won, the more me and my pals backed City, it literally was a cult, a big fuck off to the ***** taking the easy ride. Don't get me wrong some of my best mates were Utd fans, they tried to sway me "just support Utd mate, come on, its easier" and I swear to god that was verbatim. I never gave in despite our shite. The difference was that I went to City at the very least, every home game. Those red ***** never went, they used to go mental because they got to watch it on tele, meanwhile I was being escorted every other weekend down to the Platt Lane by my dad. A man whose passion hasn't changed now, since the 1970's and throughout the shite.

Even now, whilst we're so much better than them, drilling everyone at home, being 10 points clear, expanding our stadium, building the biggest academy in the world. I cannot bring myself to take the piss, I never want to be like them, I've taken more flack than any follower of another club in English football but yet I cannot bring myself to stoop to their level, I think we're better than that. I feel uneasy seriously ripping anyone else, even them.

I remember being sat there in the second half of the 06/07 season having not scored at home for a succession of games, everyone was fucking fed up, it was the worst football City had played in decades and the stadium was growing quieter by the second because of the complete and utter disillusion, yet I remember sitting there thinking "I'd rather be like this than be like them ".

I think my lad is a similar age to you(21) His experience at school was similar. When I started primary school it was roughly 48% blue and 48% rag with a smattering of Liverpool and other clubs. My lad was one of two City fans in his class. We lost generations of fans in the 80s/90s and even in the first part of the new century. I think we still have one of the oldest fan demographics in the Prem.
For the first time since I can remember, I'm seeing kids in City shirts, not just in Manchester either. I'm in south Yorkshire these days and I see kids wearing blue nearly every day. The best thing about Mansour buying the club isn't the players he's bought, the academy he's building or the trophies we've won and are continuing to challenge for. It's guaranteeing that when the current generation of supporters start to die off, there will be a new and growing generation taking their place.
Our fanbase was starting to wither and he came in at just the right time.

Yeah I'm roughly the same age as your lad. The thing with City's fans is, we're unique in that everyone has suffered over the age of 16. My dad cannot remember us winning anything until 2011 because he was born in 1972/3 yet he talks about us as passionately as he did in 1998, nothings change with him. Yet I grew up and remember very well Kinkladze, and him leaving, going into the third tier and what followed. I was part of the lost generation and whilst others may argue, people now aged 20-26 had it the hardest. Most of us were loners rejecting the norm of Utd against an absolute tirade of viscous onslaught by those lot.

School was so so tough, much harder than any work place, we were fucking shite throughout my entire school existence and there was little to throw back at them other than " the only team from Manchester". In 99 they had won the fucking lot and yet our Wembley win was just as precious to us. Drawing at the swamp in 2001 was a small celebration at school even though I knew we were going down,I walked into the first lesson with a smug smile. I think that proves how far we've come.

It's surreal to think of us as we are now and somewhat depressing in a way that the sense of sticking with the shite will be assigned to my youth.

It's strange how much this story resonates with me, I was at Primary School in the 90s and High School in the early 2000s. In Salford, I was always going to be outnumbered, but throughout the years, it got me laughed at and jeered, even bullied at times, all because I wouldn't go along with the popular choice. And believe me, I've heard the same old rehashed jokes a million times before.

My old man brought me up to be a blue, and always stood by me when I told him that I was getting shit for supporting City, and back then in School as said above, all we had is the derby results and the chance that they might not win the league. How the mighty have fallen, it's a shame my Dad can't see us lording it over them for once, probably the only hard thing about our current success, cause he'd love it watching their empire crumble.

Weird how so many hate Utd more than they support City.
That's not the case, it's just that we've been conditioned over years of being shit to derive massive enjoyment from any rag failure. For me I'm gonna be supporting the medics in that game, hope they cover every blade of grass, 22 red cards would be nice as well, I believe that would lead to the game being abandoned and both teams being docked points.

I wish only pain and suffering on those rag C***s but it would good if they scraped draws against all our rivals at the top, or even beat a few along the way that's a win, win for City as far as I am concerned and us winning the PL takes precedence over my loathing of those C***s every time.. !!

Indeed it does mate but swallow it back down I will and any wins they get this season will be meaningless, cant see a top 4 for them at all so its going to be a disaster for them financially and pride wise too... Fuck em.. !! CTWD

Whilst they are crap at the moment, they are still the biggest club in the country by some distance.
We need them to stay down but at the same time we could do with Chelsea dropping points.

3-3 draw with plenty of injuries and suspensions please.
