I doubt it, as he'd have had to 'gain' the dressing-room to begin with.

What is moyes doing so badly that ferguson did so well with more or less the same team? It's not as if moyes doesn't have long experience of playing against all the other teams in the PL . Does it just boiled down to tactics? What is different in how they are playing?

Moyes' big mistake was not keeping the GPC's coaching staff. At least for the first 12 months.

Today I heard The Times football writer (Saeed?) talking about the Rags. He believes that the GPC told the board and is still telling the board that there would be a transitional period but if they stick by Moyes like they stuck by him everything would be back to the glory days. Mention was then made about how it took GPC 3 years and it might take that again.

The problem with that theory is that when the GPC took over there was not the same amount of money swilling around, whether it is sponsorship, champs league or even megastore money. Now just one season without Europe could ruin them. 3 years could destroy them. No decent player is going to come without Champs league football which prolongs the financial problems. No player is going to come with Moyes in charge, (totally unproven at a high level,) and as the money dries up and the Glazers known reluctance to spend continues there is not much light at the end of the tunnel. If he fails this year to get fourth they have major problems.

Sorry I have to stop typing now as I am laughing so much.

The real big problem they have this time around is that there are far more good teams to challenge them this time around..
