A rag altering the facts to support his opinions? Who'd have thought it.

I'm still not sure how the most expensive team in Premiership history finishing 3rd is anything but a failure.
I saw the Gillette Soccer Saturday panel talking about if Van Gaal stumbled upon this formation and team. Of course he did - he's literally tried every formation and possible eleven! Only injuries lead to Rooney playing up front.
Who said that? I don't think United will win the league next season, all you can hope for is improvement. Nobody has a right to win anything, but if we can finish 3rd or 4th, and improve on that then it's a step in the right direction.
Also what does money have to do with anything? You can't play the money card now. Expensive signings guarantee nothing. Look at the overinflated prices of English players. And 90% of the time they're garbage. Also by the same logic, as Chelsea and City have spent the most in Premier League history, you 2 should be the most succesful sides of the Premier League Era by a mile then?
I'm With Stupid said:In the years that we actually spent the money (or soon after) we were the two most successful clubs. As were United in the (many) years that they topped the spending (and wages) charts. Correct for inflation and then claim that we've spent the most in Premier League history. Otherwise it's a nonsensical point. How can you not have won the most Premier League titles when you've spent £500m in the past 4 years and fuck all in the 20 years prior to that?redmanc34 said:CityFan94 said:How anybody thinks Man Utd will win the league next season is beyond me when Mourinho so clearly has Van Gaal's number. How convenient.
Now that ye've outspent us over the last three years.
Now that Utd have the most expensively assembled squad in English football history.
Now that it's Utd with the highest wage bill in English football.
Now that Utd are about to spew yet another £150m in the hope of clawing back former glories.
Now, we can't play the money card, you say?
Guess what? We can and we will. Just because you and your lot can't handle what ye've been dishing out to us since 2008, don't think ye can move the goalposts, now.
Nothing has fundamentally changed in football since ye lot and the other "Big 4" sold the game's soul for ITV's money, nigh on 30 years ago. Today's City and Chelsea are just the inevitable consequence of the greed shown by Utd, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal and Spurs.
It was that quintet that made money the great arbiter of the once beautiful game. Be under no illusion, every success enjoyed by those five clubs since the ITV deal, was bought and paid for that day, just as much as anything City and Chelsea have achieved since our respective takeovers.
So, if it's all the same to you, we'll continue to play the money card because it remains your club that benefits most from slipping it into the deck in the first place.

See the point made before this, think it answers most of your questions. Former glories? it's been 2 years since we won the league, the past 4 years we've won two apiece, and done nothing in Europe. Neither club is setting the world alight.

We have won 2 out of the last 3 and the double last season. Made me happy! Now it's your bed time.
