It's probably been said already in this thread (I ain't trawling through 102 pages!) but the strong word around old Trafford (from my good friend who is very close to the busby family no less) is that if Turtle neck doesn't win the cup AND make top 3 or 4 they are going balls out for Pep in the summer. The view apparently is that there is a feeling of disappointment that they've spunked a wad of cash on top of a squad that had won the league only two seasons ago and seen no discernible improvement on last year and they are getting increasingly nervous about how to come back to the top table if they are out of the top four for two successive seasons.

Apparently they've had the feelers out already and received "not un-encouraging signs" that he might be up for the challenge.

Don't shoot the messenger but this lad told me Moyes was likely to be a goner well before the news came out.

two things.
1, it will be his demenour that gets him the sack. he's a nutter.
2, moyes was on the way out before he took the job.

If United did get Pep, my views on Soriano and especially Txiki would start to turn. One of the attractions of them is their strong ties to Pep and the possibility we can get him some day. Not only failing to attract him but losing him to the opposition, after (so far) also failing to attract any marquee signings, would be near intolerable (I'm sure Damocles will disagree on the Pep thing though). I'd be gutted if he went there, but what makes me doubt that rumour is the same that makes me doubt him coming here next summer - his policy is to take a year of absence between jobs and refresh himself. Because he puts everything into coaching, a lot of mental effort.

This was your post in the Soriano row thread, I am beginning to become suspicious about you.

Soriano is a fifth column wanker. Always always has been. He's so far up Barca's arse it's ridiculous. The second that those Catalan whores wave their petticoats at him and his buddy they'll leave us quicker than you can say "Howard Kendal". There's a reason why, even with all our money, ...

I would be more than happy for Guardiola to go there. Would be perfect.

I wasn't convinced by Van Gaal before he came to United, but he had a good world cup showing which made me more worried and then they splashed a lot of money. Herrera I had not seen and Di Maria should be one of the best players in the league. Luckily Van Gaal keeps messing up the formation.

The difference between Van Gaal and Guardiola is that both are arrogant, stubborn and like to over think their tactics. Van Gaal may get it wrong a lot, but he also has moments of genius. I am not talking about hoofing it up to Felaini, but things like moving Schweinsteiger into midfield. A player that would then go onto to become the best midfielder in the world.

Either way I am happy with the way things are going.

Mourinho to United would be everyone's worst nightmare. Hopefully that never ever happens.

I have to agree with what you posted. The feeling I get with pep is he has this fascination on only managing the big 'traditional' clubs and them lot come under that bracket. I think he would choose them dirty cnuts over us. Would love to be proved wrong.
