I wouldn't pay the money that they wanted, he's 30 next year and the core age of our squad is old enough as it is.

that's a very good point. the thing is though he'd technically be on a free as shirt sales alone would run in to millions, then even getting further in the CL with him in the side would add even more. add other commercial deals and even at 30 he'd worth a pop.

See were back on the Messi beliefs.

We've done very well without Ronaldo. His impact (IMO) wouldn't be as great as some automatically assume. Wrong age, on the way down. No thanks

And a dodgy knee. At the same time, though, I wouldn't like to see him rock up at the swamp.

Fair point the exposure would be massive for the club, paper talk suggests he want £500,000 a week wages which sounds unsustainable and would unsettle too many players in the squad. He's thrown his hook out to see what his options are but I would steer clear.

Problems i see with signing cristiano:
1. Age: at 30 years old, how long will he last? Also fee involved would still be astronomical
2. His game depends heavily on physical attributes and they would decline sharply now hat he is on the other side of 30
3. Wages causing friction in between existing stars like Kun, Silva, Yaya
4. Not a team player and poor work rate.
5. he is ex-united and always speaks about them in glowing terms

It smells of the rag PR machine shaping the narrative. He turned down twice the money at City to come home to united.

Just think he'd cost a fortune, and when Marco Reus is 25, with a 25 Million buyout clause, I'd have him if we can, Ronaldo is great but cares purely about himself and his own image.

I completely agree, SMF.

Although I don't necessarily agree that our squad is old, it's always better to buy a young good'un than an old good'un.

And in footballing terms, five years is a long time. Marco Reus might not be as good a player as the vain showpony, but he would undoubtedly improve our squad and give us at least five more years than fake would.

SSN wankfest this morning.

You'd be forgiven for thinking QPR don't exist.
Beat me to it mate, creaming their pants in there aren't they, Di maria and Falcoa love in, you have to laugh at the complete and utter favouritism towards them, they don't even try to hide it. Come on QPR, the world is with you to get a result....

And then Leicester next week who are brimming with confidence. Drew at home to gunners and beat Stoke away yesterday.
Scum dont win today and they are seriously in the mither because the tougher games start coming then.
