They could easily do exactly the same as Liverpool did last season. They have no other distractions apart from the league, a top class forward line, average midfield and awful defence.
I think they will finish top four quite easily.

Last season Liverpool were pretty much as you describe. They had Saurez and obviously overachieved because of him, but the rest of the squad has come on since then, so they won't fall back too far.
United were just comedy gold.
Arsenal last season were not as good as Arsenal look to be this season, and probably won't have as many injuries.
Spurs can't be as bad as last season (can they?)
Everton are probably going to be about the same.

So, your comparison of this season's Utd to last season's Liverpool does hold in many ways, but the whole context in which it is set has changed, so the same outcome is highly unlikely.

I think they are, at best, challenging for fourth, and I don't really expect them to get it.

Based on what criteria?
I don't know if you watched today but unfortunately they did look good, I know QPR are wank but none the less Di Maria is world class and they have a array of other quality players. I think they will get 3rd or 4th at the expense of Liverpool.

Just seen the sports update on Sty News, and the presenter was wanking himself silly over the rags' win.

You'd have thought they'd won the title the way he was going on.

SCUM!

They will get top 4 at the expense of Liverpool. I don't understand this mentality of burying heads in sand about the rags. They are not going away, and will be real title contenders next season. In fact,I would actually be surprised if they don't get 3rd this season.

Well I was underwhelmed. They played a poor side and didn't create a lot but took their chances well.
Di Maria looked quick but then he was given enough room and QPR were really weak in the challenge.
Saying that rags did look better than when they played Swansea but that isn't saying a lot.
BTW RAG!

No they didn't. Their front 6 looked very good against piss poor opposition.

Their back 4 is still comedy gold. This is basically the same defence that let in four against MK Dons and I don't think Rojo adds that much based on today's showing. QPR could have had three or four.

They could be very entertaining because I can imagine a lot of their games will end up 4-3, one way or another.

Yes that one, coincidentially the same one that looked shit hot and got MOTM when he played his swamp debut for that lot today!
