I've heard they're going to have a new, individual sponsor on each blade of grass at the swamp next season. So that's two new sponsors.
Yep, Monsanto and Nestlé.

Didn't some women's team agree to have Nissan plastered all over the back of their shirts recently for a small fee? The name of said team escapes me. Anyone help me with this?

Didn't some club in the Stretford area disband its disabled to team to save £50,000 a year? You know, to save annually just over Rooney's daily wage?

As far as I'm aware Utd still have several disability schemes on the go, including a side that plays in the Ability Counts league. Oh, and for all those ponderin' the whereabouts of M15 Red. Hulme says hello.

I don't particularly have a problem in principal with advertising on the back of shirts, my problem is that it looks bad. The other clubs have also said it reduces the main sponsor income, so its also pointless.

I have absolutely no problem with United proposing it, again in principal.

What I do have a problem with is the Glazers. Whatever anybody may think of United or its fans, the owners are about the worst thing that could happen to football. I'm not claiming to read their minds, but, as I posted in another thread, I'm sure the proposal has nothing to do with simply trying to increase the club's revenue as a matter of normal business activity, its about wringing every last penny they can out of the cash cow for their own ends.

About the only thing positive I can say about the Glazers is that I think they would be happy to do an Arsenal and finish 4th every year as this maximises their take.

Advertising on the back of shirts. City.
We can't mock the rags at all.

Our first team will be doing it soon.

I personally think it looks tacky and it's just the continuation of this Americanised sport.

Footballers will look like F1 drivers soon.

It will happen sooner or later, many leagues have sponsors on teams playing shirts, front, back and also sleeves, don't forget the shorts they even have sponsors on them.

Well the scum are missing out then aren't they because they can't afford a woman's team to get sponsors on there backs ;) sponsors on the backs for premier teams has been thrown out before Even any vote so it's not coming Any time soon! As for being tacky I'm not arsed it's getting city sponsorship money that the rags can't :))

Wasn't it van Gaal who disbanded the disabled team ? By shipping half the squad out and replacing them with reasonbly talented players
